Really. The best place to stop and have a long goodbye chat is right in front of a public entrance/ exit.

This is why it's sometimes handy to be a fairly large brute of a man with a full beard and a shaved bald head. I can scowl and only just gently nudge and people immediately make way. (Little do they know I wouldn't hurt them for the life of me, people are awesome and precious, but are not so good at knowing when they are blocking other folks from getting through).
