Gwang Seong’s POV
My smile has already worn out my lips.
Despite my attempts to prompt him, he was still not communicating. It has already been two minutes! Both this man and my secretary had crimson cheeks and ears and were acting like statues. What is their problem?
"If you will not be speaking, I will have secretary Kim lead you out."
He flinched and used the back of his elbows to conceal the redness on his cheeks.
"Sorry!" He bowed with respect. "I was startled by your good looks, sir!" He clarified it for me.
I arched my eyebrows. What sort of reasoning is that?
I once again saw my secretary's face transforming into that of a ferocious tiger as he feigned to stumble and shove the other man to the ground. As he was bowing earlier, his head was the first to touch the ground.
He cried and writhed on the floor while gripping with both hands the section of his head that had been struck. My secretary chuckled briefly, then changed his expression to one of mild concern as he helped the other individual to his feet. "Oh my goodness! Sorry! I didn't mean it. I unexpectedly lost my balance."
When I heard my secretary's explanation, I raised my brow again. Secretary Kim must have craved vengeance for the prior shove he got.
"Awww, huhu." The man remained overly preoccupied with his injury. It was a loud impact, so it must have been really painful.
"Speak now." I lowered and amplified my voice to indicate that this time I was being serious. Do they think I have time for their ridiculous games?
The second man then began to talk after they found composure. "We've been with you for a long time, Mr. Gwang; you can't let us leave now!"
I stared him in the eyes. "Yes, you are correct. You've been here for so long, yet you have not reached the sales quota since. You have been a liability to me for too long. Do you not agree that it is time for you to leave?"
He was taken aback, but immediately resumed his pleading. "Sir, please. Consider it again! We plan to release a new album within the next two months. I guarantee that it will sell this time!"
His response caused me to laugh.
"You've already published four albums; what makes you believe this one will be any different?" My face turned into a scowl. "Leave now!"
My secretary acted swiftly to drag him to the door, but the other man shoved him again and fell on his knees.
He was sobbing and pleading, "Please, Mr. Gwang Seong, even if it's just me. Please, just keep me!"
He crawled on his knees to the edge of my table and reached for my shoes while weeping and kissed them.
I was perplexed. I had no idea he was so desperate that he was willing to give up all of his dignity. Unfortunately for him, this strategy is no longer effective on me. More resources will be depleted the longer I retain him. Plus, if I let him off the hook now, I'm sure he'd find a way to trap me into keeping him forever if I let him off the hook now.
I gently booted him off, ensuring that he would not be injured. Although I want to strike him hard in the face, it would be riskier for me to do so since he may sue me.
"I've already made my decision. Get out immediately. I have more essential matters to attend to." I pulled my chair away from his on-the-floor, crawled-out body.
I noticed many moving shadows in my periphery in an instant. As I turned around to see what had occurred, I noticed my secretary standing in front of me with his arms wide out. I peered over his shoulders and observed that his left face was bruised and that the other individual had a closed hand.
My vision became obscured by the smoke produced by my blood boiling. I couldn't help but attack the other man; my right fist was poised to pound his nasty face until I felt a hand grab my arm from behind. It was Kim, my secretary.
"You need not get your hands dirty, sir. I will manage it. Don't worry ." He mumbled in my ear.
