Amazed, she was. Mina expected his body to become a mangled mess of bone and meat from impact. Erwin eventually got back up on his two feet. Though, through his body language, it was clear that he didn’t quite know the reasoning for this.
“Stop this right now. The real Mina wouldn’t do something like this.” Erwin says, still trying to gain the oxygen back into his lungs from the impact.
Mina then grabs him by the throat with her demonic hand. “I’m beginning to think you never really knew me.” she says as she grabs him by the throat and hurls him into the walkway of the church. He quickly recovers this time, and slowly walks away from Mina as she yells more at him.
“Why can’t you just leave? Why can’t you just let me be?” she angrily asks.
“Because I want to help you.”
She then becomes even more irritated and leaps to punch Erwin in his chest and into the streets. The cars and citizens abruptly stop as they get startled by the entire event. Erwin, becoming increasingly annoyed, stands up and begins angrily walking to her, only for them to be interrupted by a light in the sky. A helicopter had activated its spotlight on the two. They then quickly noticed that an entire team of armed men in body armor and rifles began to surround them. All of them shouting at them to surrender. Knowing that she wouldn’t, Erwin gave her a look, hoping she wouldn’t hurt anyone else.
One of the armed men then began to aim directly for Mina's face. Seeing this, something inside Erwin felt as if it had activated. Reaching his arm out, he could feel a strange sensation across his right arm, as it began to mutate, turning it into a silver amalgamation of metal right before one of the men began to open fire.
Mina, growing even more furious, moves Erwin out of the way. She raises her two arms out as she screams.
“Leave me alone!”
The material develops over the other half of her still-human-looking body, from neck to toe, and releases a mess of solid black tendrils from her body. It was truly a horrific sight. Piercing through anything, whether it be cement, metal, or meat. Killing almost everyone in a wide radius. The aftermath resulted in a hellish-looking mess of metal and blood.
Erwin became distraught. Seeing this, he hurls himself at Mina. With all this horrific power built inside him, he tackles her so hard that the two fly through a tall, nearby building, eventually landing on the roof.
He has had enough. He’s given chance after chance, hoping she would return. Hoping she would become her previous self. The two begin to brawl, neither holding back. Though it seemed that Mina began to have a stronger will. She hits Erwin to the ground, and begins to beat him. She doesn’t stop. Her anger won’t let her until she sees nothing but a bleeding mess of a human being.
Erwin, hurting like hell, comes to the realization that this was his end. And that he failed at bringing the real girl he knew back to him. After seeing his face become bruised and bloody, she uses her cosmic abilities to craft a mighty, pitch black blade from her wrist. She lowers the sharp point down to the tip of his throat.. But before she strikes the fatal blow, she pauses.
She begins to look around to see nothing but chaos and death. She then looks back at her lover who looks almost unrecognizable from the bruising and blanket of blood around his face. Tears begin to fall from her eyes, as they get mixed with the rain. The blade begins to retract into the rest of her body.
“I’m sorry.” she says, with nothing but shame in her voice. She then lowers herself to give him a kiss on his forehead. Mina stands and walks to the end of the roof, beginning to fall. Erwin, with all his remaining might, crawls to the end, to see no sight of her anywhere. She was gone, nowhere to be found.
Erwin, though without any strength at the moment, was determined. Determined to find the truth, to find the source of this terrifying anomaly. And to return to the love of his life once again.
