I was really worried after Trevor ran out of my house last night. I get that he is very jumpy about being open about his sexuality. I just wish he would have stayed so we could talk things threw. If he stayed I could have told him that my mom already knows. I just needed to call him. All night I tried calling and texting him but he didn’t respond either. I knew he would be home after school on Thursday. I knew he would probably be home right now after school., I drove to his house. I was a little nervous. Whenever we would hang out or work on school projects we would always do it at my house. So this would be the first time driving to his house without him. I got to his house. I walked up to his door a pressed the doorbell. After a few minutes, the door opened and out stepped an older man. I recognized him as Trevor's dad.

“Yes what do you need,” Mr. Smith said in a gruff voice.

“Oh yes. Sorry to bother you, sir. I just stopped by to see your son,” I said. I don’t what it was about him. He just had an air of uneasiness around him.

“Okay, no problem let me call him. Just stay here,” He said. He turned his head towards the inside of the house. “Ken get down here one of your friends is at the door,” He yelled.

“Sir I came to see Trevor your other son,” I said

He then just stood there and looked at me. “Sorry but Trevor can’t come down right now he is busy,” He said.

“Are you sure sir? I just need to talk to him real quick. It will only take a few minutes,” I said. He just looked at me.

"Look I don't need guys like you coming around here harassing him. If you want to do it anywhere but my house. Frankly, it's a good thing, guys, like you harass him so much it toughens him out. Make him into a real man," he said.

What the hell his dad doesn't even care if jerks harass Trevor. "Sir I think you are mistaken I'm," I was then cut off by a familiar voice

“Dad who's at the door,” the voice said. And out came the owner of the voice Trevor's jerk of a brother Ken.

“Oh what are you doing here,” Ken said.

“I just came to see Trevor. I said.

“Ken do you know this boy,” Mr. Smith

“Yeah, he's Trevor's only friend. I think he must have heard what happened at school to Trevor,” Ken said.

“Okay just deal with him I have work to get back to,” Mr. Smith said. He then disappeared back inside the house.

“So is Trevor here,” I said.

“He is but I don’t think he wants to see you,” Ken said.

“Why do you say that,” I said.

“Oh so you didn’t hear what happened at school,” He said.

“No, I didn’t. I just came to talk to Trevor, not to you,” I said. He then got a big smirk on his face.

“Look big guy someone defaced Trevor's locker at school. And now most people exactly what he is,” Ken said.

“What exactly is he,” I said.

“Oh nothing really just a disgusting fag,” Ken said in a smug tone.

“Look dude don’t call him that,” I snapped. Who did this guy think he was? He may be Trevor's brother but no one can call him that.

“Oh so touchy. Don’t worry I am not the only one who thinks that. Everyone knows what he is now. Too bad he didn’t have his big football player bodyguard there to protect him. But who knows you probably would have just turned your back on him,”  Ken said.

“Just shut up,” I said.

“Why are you getting so upset? Maybe it's true. Maybe you would have just ditched him. Maybe you would have joined in. You are Mr. Golden boy. You wouldn't want to do anything to tarnish your reputation,"

"Just shut up," I growled.

"Frankly it's a good thing that everyone knows now. He is getting exactly what he deserves. I am just surprised he hasn’t gotten the shit beat of him again. Who knows the week isn’t over yet it could still happen,” Ken said.

“Just shut the hell up. What kind of older brother are you to talk about their younger sibling like this,” I said

“I am the kind of older sibling who is disgusted to be related to a disgusting little fag like him. Now, why don’t you leave now, or maybe I will let my father know what kind of relationship you two really have. I think knowing that his son is going around kissing the star quarterback would probably be the push for him to finally send Trevor away,” Ken said.

What he said shocked me. I didn't know he knew about Trevors and my relationship.“Fine I will leave. Just know that if something happens to Trevor. I will be coming for you. Understand,”

“Yeah I understand,” Ken said.

I left Trevor's house more upset than when I arrived. No wonder Trevor was so freaked out by my mom walking in on us kissing. How could he expect someone else's parent to be understanding when his own family acts like him being gay is something to be ashamed of. I get why he was scared. I am still afraid to come out to my dad. Even if I did come out to him. I don't think he would ever treat me like how Trevor's family treats him. I think it would take him a while to accept it but he would still care about me. Trevors is just worse off. Now I realized why he never wanted me to come over to his house. He didn’t want me to see how badly he was treated.  I sent him another text. “Please talk to me,”

Felix Claytons just wants to finish high school without people discovering his secret. He thinks that staying in the closet is better than dealing with the treatment of the homophobes in his town, school, and life. That was until a run-in with the new student Trevor Kent.
