Xue Guanting’s child his pride and joy were laying on a bed suffering the worst pain one couldn’t imagine. There were only a few rare chances that a person’s internal energy would be corrupted at all in the past nine hundred years. Yet now it was happening to his very own son, and it was progressing heavily because of Xue Guanting’s neglect and self-wallowing. Slowly approaching his son's bed did the esteemed leader of all kneel for the first time. Grabbing on to Qing DaBai’s arm Xue Guanting bowed he head.
“Forgive me. Im so sorry Son. As your father I failed you. I failed as a leader as well. Son I will find a way to heal you even if it’s the last thing that I do. My poor son im sorry for leaving you like this. I will give you whatever you want so please keep fighting it.” The last part was said like a vow to Qing DaBai like the young man could hear him.
However, Qing Dabai couldn’t hear him at all, but instead was struggling in a place within himself. It was a cave he was in. Roaming in an endless maze where the yelling and cry of another trapped with him. As he wandered a searing pain would appear on his arms and his stomach making him incapable of walking forwards. Then it would stop, and he would be able to continue forwards in looking for the exit. Qing Dabai did not know how long he had been wondering the caves or even how he had gotten there, as the last thing he remembered was seeing the demon god holding Lian Yuexia shrouded in darkness. He felt alone abandoned by his family even the thought of them betraying him crossed his mind every so often as the pain started. When he could first feel the pain, it was only on his hands and that was at the start of his adventures through the maze. Steadily it grew more and more as time went on and eventually, passing out from exhaustion to wake in a different area of the maze.
It felt like days, no it felt like months to Qing Dabai as he searched for the way out. The pain now at its highest point it’s been since he began. Being able to hear the yells and crying of another he decided to try and follow the sound to see if he could meet anyone else. When he got closer the yells were someone calling out to another.
“Shui Si! SHui Si please don’t!!” The yell seemed to die down slightly as he got close, but the pain started again but it was worse in his arm, the arm that his father was holding on to. Soon it felt like fire was engulfing him and trying to eat away at his flesh. The pain forced him to the ground as he tried to breathe through it, but the pain that was like fire turned into the feeling of thousands of insects chewing their way out of his skin causing Qing Dabai to scream out both him this cave and in the real world. It made Xue Guanting extremely uncomfortable as he watched as the arm, he is holding on to was now starting to turn black faster. Letting go quickly the demonic corruption slowed as Qing Dabai scream had ceased. Looking at his own hands Xue Guanting left the room finally realizing what had happened.
“No one with cultivation is to tend to him. If they do it will kill him.” Declared by the leader who seemed to finally come back after seeing his son in such a state. “Call a meeting with the Leaders. As of today there will be a search for Lian Yuexia he must return here weather or not Qinglong is next to him. Send the word out now. BRING LIAN YUEXIA BACK!!” Xue Guanting yelled out to the servants and students around him making them to scurry off and tell others of what he said.
Lian Yuexia was still in his dream at the cabin when he heard screaming coming from the forest. Looking towards the screams, he started walking towards it. Something in his gut told him he should go but the same man with the shrouded face stopped him by grabbing his wrist. When Lian Yuexia looked behind him and saw the man he gave a light smile and patted the man’s hand. This told the man he needed to go and that everything will be alright. Hearing a deep sigh, the man disappeared allowing Lian Yuexia to go to where the screams were coming from. Lian Yuexia was walking at first, but the screaming became worse making him nervous that someone was being tortured. His walk became a run, weaving between trees and bushes to reach an entrance to a cave. The screaming was echoing heavily from deep inside, as he listened to them more closely, he could recognize the voice. Again, the man with the shrouded face came again stopping him from entering the cave. His arms around tightly around Lian Yuexia’s waist, almost begging him not to go in. The man’s head was hiding in the crook of Lian Yuexia’s neck.
“Don’t go” Was a light whisper from the man.
“I-I.... must save him. And you cannot come with me.” The words came out if Lian Yuexia naturally. “Even if he has hurt me. He is not a bad person.” Lian Yuexia was determined and left the embrace that held him tightly even with a little force. Into the cave he went leaving behind the warm sunlight, the green forest and the man who just stood there at the entrance watching. Watching the red and white slowly disappear into the darkness which was well known to hold secrets.
As Lian Yuexia ran through the labyrinth of tunnels trying to follow the screams through them, but they stopped it went silent. Causing Lian Yuexia to stop he listened to the silence waiting for another scream, but it didn’t come. Instead, right next to his ear a woman’s laugh scared him into turning around. Then lightly the woman’s voice started to echo around him different sentences to incoherent babbling and finally the clearest words out of all of them.
“Zhen Xinyi is mine!” the words didn’t really strike a chord with Lian Yuexia but the constant bombardment of the voice was scaring him backwards. He walked backwards for a while before tripping over something. Noticing that his legs were raised up by whatever he tripped over and that it was soft. Moving Lian Yuexia started to feel around the area and felt that there were clothes, then an arm and a full person. Lian Yuexia didn’t realize until now how far he gone into the cave until now as he couldn’t see inches from his face. Going closer Lian Yuexia could see that this was the one he had been serving for such a long time and grew attached to, even if he hurt Lian Yuexia.
“Young Master! Qing Dabai get up come on.” Lian Yuexia lifted Qing Dabai to see if his breath was stable. A bit haggard but stable was Qing Dabai breathing allowing Lian Yuexia to relax a bit and having him in reach. “Haaa thank the Heavens you are alright just passed out. Now how do I get out of here?” He laughed lightly looking all around the darkness, his eyes couldn’t adjust to the darkness at all like something prevented him from looking.
“To be honest young master im afraid.” Lian Yuexia admitted to the one in his arm. “Im afraid of the Sect leader... Your father... im scared of Master long and im scared of myself mostly since it seems like there is something wrong with me. But I stand by my word and help you and anyone I can. I promised didn’t I.” Getting up he tried lifting Qing DaBai to see if he could find the entrance, but he couldn’t lift him. Deciding quickly Lian Yuexia started to drag him through the tunnels. Even if it took all his strength, he would get Qing dabai out of the cave.
Lian Yuexia walked for what seemed like hours while dragging a body that was two times of his own weight making him tired, but he kept going for another half an hour. A dim light could be seen on the left far ahead of Lian Yuexia. Wiping his sweat Lian Yuexia dragged Qing Dabai towards it. The closer he got the better he could see the dim light, allowing him to see the source of it. It was a fire that was lit in a bigger area than the tunnels that he was walking through. As lian Yuexia set Qing Dabai down the rattling of chains could be heard.
“Excuse me, how are you in here? No... YOU shouldn’t be here” A white tiger covered in thick chains walked in front of Lian Yuexia. It sat there for a moment before it shifted to a young man that looked familiar. Across the man’s face were scars from an animal, but the fact he was chained so heavily made Lian Yuexia uncomfortable.
“You.. Why are you chained like that?” He asked as worried. Something was clawing at his heart Seeing this person chained, confined to this cave.
"What can I say my little sister doesn't care for me." He laughed while scratching his head. But The one he wanted to make smile didn’t causing his laugh to die.
"Your Sister did this. forcing you to stay here and be alone." Lian Yuexia didn't say this with concern. In fact he touched his own mouth shocked he could sound so indifferent.
"Ah don't be so surprised. You were always so calm and collected way move than me or your ..." The Young man stopped mid-sentence. Visibly he wanted to say something, but held his tongue to contemplate if it was a good idea to speak more. Among his thoughts the fire began to flicker snapping him out of them.
"You Must leave! She's coming I can hide him but you are to bright here." The young man got up and started pushing Lian Yuexia out of tunnel.
"But finding the way out is more of a challenge then running in to the cave. I only found you after I saw the faint light of fire. I'll get lost Ge. " Lian Yuexia felt the pushing stop. But the hands didn't move and seemed to tremble.
"Life is very cruel to you. You have no Idea who I am, do you?" The Young mans voice Sounded off to Lian Yuexia who shook his head to answer the question. A laugh came from behind it sounded like it was made out of desperation not to cry. One of the thick chains wrapped around the thin wrist and started to pull lian Yuexia out of the tunnels the endless dark maze.
""Xiao Yue you have to make it this time. Don't you ever sacrifice yourself again. Lian Yuexia live!" The Yell echoed through the cave only to Lian Yuexia. They surprised him as Lian Yuexia has never sacrificed himself…. Well he never intentionally did the reason he was almost Sacrifice by the sect leader was because he too shocked about his grandmother. The chain brought Lian Yuexia out into the bright daylight, forcing him to shield his eyes from the light. when he opened his eyes, he found himself in Qinglongs hold.
Qinglong was sleeping soundly his hold on Lian Yuexia so tight that he couldn't move. Being held like this made Lian Yuexia feel a little awkward but it also felt nice. As he stared at the sleeping one a realization hit him.
“I never told that tiger my name how did he know?”
