Oh boy I feel like everyone eventually has a similar epiphany. When you’re a kid you assume that adults just have it all figured out, and someday you’ll have it figured out too. But as you get older you come to see that you never figure anything out. Nobody does. Literally everyone you know is just going through the motions, putting one foot in front of the other. So you see the little cracks, the small allowances they make for themselves. Of course they contradict themselves, we all eventually become hypocrites just like that.
I was raised in an Orthodox Jewish community. The thing is, I'm gay, and those things don't mix well. This is my story of growing up, and eventually escaping that world.
