Read The King's Young Man :: Part 5: The Boy

After losing his virginity in the town of Han, Adam sailed for 3 days non-stop because of his traumatizing experience with the Nine-Tailed Fox. He eventually crashed his boat on an island far from Han across the Great Sea. At first, the island didn't seem familiar, but Adam eventually realized that this was an old territory of the Ironites that they lost to the Grovelands called Natinite. He had heard stories about this place and how it is where all the criminals and slaves were sent once being pronounced Useless by the King. Adam wandered around the island looking for a sailor so he could steal their boat. A few hours went by and he found a small town which seemed to be at the center of the island. He walked in trying not to draw too much attention to himself. Out of nowhere, a boy jumped in front of him off the rooftop of a 2 story building and yelled "Give me your money!"

"Get lost you little brat" Adam replied quietly.

The boy got even madder every second that passed by and said "If you don't I'll Cut Off your Stupid Head!"

Adam pulled out his sword to the boy's forehead, inches from piercing the boy's brain.

"Try me" Adam said in a calm, serious voice.

"TRY ME!" He yelled.

The boy stared dead on into Adam's eyes with a face as if he was ready to kill Adam paying no attention to the sword.

"You know what, ill get someone else's money." The boy said in frustration.

Adam started feeling paranoid and continued through the city. About an hour later, he saw a light behind a building in the darkness of night. As this orange light rose and retreated, he walked closer, and heard his heartbeat, he heard voices. He walked enough to see them but was still unnoticeable to the people. It was a Mother, Father, Daughter..., and the stupid little brat from earlier.

Like an idiot, Adam yelled "YOUR THAT LITTLE BRAT FROM EARLIER THAT TRIED TO ROB ME!"

The father saw Adam's sword, fell to his knees and cried "Please don't harm my family. You may kill me but please spare my family!"

Adam started to notice that the son had no choice but to rob people. This family was poor and barely stayed alive every day. Adam stood staring at the father as he cried before his feet. Adam told the father "Your son, he will venture with me to the Mountain of Myths to reseal the monsters set out to destroy the Grovelands. If he remains my companion by the time the Grovelands are saved, I'll leave it up to your son if he will return to you."

The Father replied, "Are you suggesting he be your slave?"

Adam shook his head nodding yes.

Adam added "He will be legally my slave but I'll make sure he has what he needs and is prepared to fight off monsters and other opposers."

Later on, Adam and the boy sailed off on their journey to the Mountain of Myths.
