Nox was silently thinking about Castor’s “thank you.” It was different from before, like, he knew more than he should have. He couldn’t help but wonder if Castor was just playing dumb and he knew more then he let on.
It was hard for him to pin it.
It almost irritated him.
With a huff, he pushed his overactive mind away and plastered on a smile as he reached the dinning hall. There, he could see his mother, his father and Dani, waiting for him so they could start their meal.
“Sorry I was late, I had to feed…”
King Alderich sounded a little annoyed.
“The “Guest” I know.” He smiled over at his youngest son, who was all talk. “Dani here told me all about him and how he is a Prince from some far away land.” If only that was the case, he wouldn't be stressing so much.
Dani pipped up.
“But daddy! He’s really cool and really strong!” The youngest Moon Prince stood up on his chair, reaching high in the air. “He tossed me up so high in the air, momma screamed.”
Nox took a seat, trying not to let out a laugh, because that was funny. More so when the King looked worried at that thought.
Queen Terria blushed, her son knew how to make a story more lively.
“Now Dani, we are at the dinner table.” She watched as her son quickly sat down and started to turn beat red. “And it wasn’t that high…” She eyed her husband, who looked tired. “Is he well Nox?”
Nox looked around the table, seeing an empty seat before nodding. He was a bit sad to see Derek wasn’t there.
“Yeah, he’s well. He fell asleep after lunch.” He didn’t add that he fell asleep either. “He really like’s our Kingdom’s food.” He gave a little laugh, causing the three others in the room to be happy at that. “By the time he goes home, he’ll be fat.”
“Oh good, so his people won’t say we starved him.” Alderich snickered. With a tired sigh he nodded his head and the maids came into deliver their food.
As food was placed in front of Nox, he frowned a little. He was still very full from lunch and adding any more would seem too much for him, more so when his heart wasn’t quite into eating.
Terria saw her son’s expression change and wondered if he was feeling sick.
“Nox…”Only for her voice to fade into a soft silence and her lips broke into a large smile. “Derek, your here!”
Nox raised his head a bit, looking over at his side as Derek pulled a chair out next to him and sat down.
“Sorry
I’m late…” He sat down as a maid quickly vanished to get him
some food as well. “I’d say I was entertaining a “guest” but
that’s not my style…” He smirked as his eye clashed with his
father, who was joyed to have him there. “I had to find some
clothes that weren’t…”
Nox laughed.
“That weren’t so last century?” He felt a little more hungry now. “Like a plague doctor.”
Derek leaned back in his chair as the maid placed food down for him. He huffed at that insult. He was gonna say something witty back, but their father cut in.
“Now boys….” He couldn’t be mad, his voice wouldn’t allow it. He was truly happy to have them both there. “You have to show a good example for your younger brother…”
Derek adjusted his mask, frowning a bit.
“Wasn’t he just standing on his chair not to long ago…” Derek glanced over at his mother, who was whipping tears away from her eyes. He felt a bit guilty at that. “Hello Mother…”
Queen Terria slapped her cheeks softly, trying to stop herself from crying. She smiled at her boys.
“Come now, let’s eat before I make this meal too salty.”
Nox looked down at his meal again, seeing that it was more appealing than it once was. He would wait for a bit before he asked his father about a new room for their guest, because right now, for him, it was just family.
For them all, they were happy.
And the night went on with laughter.
