When I read this comic now I cringe. Jokes about killing the president seemed edgy to me at the time but they just seem beyond dumb now. I am not sure if Hank actually pulls it off either. The comic leaves it up to interpretation, which is possibly the most interesting part of this strip. I don't think it actually happens though because Hank isn't a murderer. The series was early and I am certain I wasn't thinking too much about what Hank would or wouldn't do. On one hand it's funny for someone to always do what you are told. On the other hand Hank has a personality and it's not of an unthinking assassin.

Or maybe I am reading way more into this episode and it's just to LULZ or not to LULZ?

Hank The Squirrel is a web comic created in 1999 that nobody read. It's a copy+paste explosion of non sequitur humor and bad child-like art that may upset you. Thankfully you can be happy by not reading them which won't be your salvation as the coming global apocalypse shall render all that obsolete.
