Like the great scientist Ivan Pavlov, cat owners end up psychologically conditioning their pets to go crazy at the sound of a can opener doing what it does best--literally blowing the lid off a can, with literal firepower! It is unfortunate for cats, however, that they cannot differentiate between the sounds of a can of cat-designated food being opened & a can of human-designated food. The line probably becomes much more blurry when tuna is involved, on which both cat & human dine alike.
