A collector of rare items/objects finds himself an infant child and adds her to his collection. The child, a young girl, was told she was cast away into the wilderness and left for dead because of her appearance; of course, the girl had no choice but to believe his lie.
As time passed and the girl grew, the collector would frequently verbally abuse her, talk down to her, and again feed her falsehood about the outside world. However, that would never stop her from dreaming about the outside world. The home that the collector keeps is more of a palace than a mansion, but the young girl’s favorite places in the whole building are the tower with a balcony overlooking the nearby town, she could paint everything and everyone she saw from that balcony but hides her paintings because her benefactor would often either destroy them or sell them to whoever paid the most, and the library, where she learned to read in every language the collector had; Latin, Greek, old to new English, Sanskrit, and many others.
