Although promising himself he would explore the island, Trystn realised that he wouldn’t be going anywhere if he didn’t make a shelter soon. He’d discovered a natural cave in the mountain and wondered that if he could make tools, he might be able to make it habitable. He found lots of washed up items by the ship and decided he would search through those later. Making his way back into the jungle, he saw a cluster of dark fruits, and wondered if they were good to eat. He reached out a hand and put one into his mouth; it tasted sweet and he quickly took more, stuffing them in the folds of his loincloth. He ate on the way to the cave and when he got there he had eaten them all. He began by using a stick and a flint stone to make a crude pickaxe, using jungle vine to bind them together. With his tool, he managed to dislodge the many stalactites and stalagmites that were dotted around the cave. However, the floor was still quite sharp so he travelled back to the ship and stole some of the timbers that weren't quite so rotten. After lugging them back to the cave, he laid them on the ground as a makeshift floor. As the sky grew dark, he once again had to sleep in the wreck of the ship as, although the animals he met were friendly enough, he couldn’t be sure whether or not some of them were carnivorous.
