All furniture wasn't actually old-fashioned. And the design of the rooms wasn't so-called grandmother's style with carpets on walls and fold-out table. And everything was actually modern but made to look classical. Which actually fitted the castle itself.
Pavel stayed his bag on the floor next to the bed. He decided it would be better do not unpack his things. Everything here was too good to be true. So as soon as Sergey Skopin comes back he'll probably find out that it's a mistake. And of course Pavel will be kicked out.
Soon Piotr came to lead him to the kitchen since Pavel didn't know yet where to go. Besides two of them there were one more person there. Pavel guessed that he must be Piotr's son. But for some reason Pavel had thought that he was much younger. Piotr's son was actually a teenager.
“Hi, I'm Aleksey. But you can call me Lyosha,” he addressed to Pavel.
“Hi. My name is Pasha,” Pavel told a short form of his name.
They had a stew with some meat and mushrooms for dinner. Piotr had also cut some vegetables and put them on the plate. There were some tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers and onion.
“I didn't known that Sergey had a brother by the way,” said Lyosha.
“Neither am I,” Piotr answered him. “And don't look at me. He had never mentioned it before. I don't know why.” He turned towards Pavel. “So we are probably the worst souse of information for you. We didn't even know your father had existed before this day.”
“I see,” Pavel wasn't sure what else he could tell.
“But we can tell you about your uncle instead,” said Lyosha. “For instance, he was the one who cooked this stew. Sergey is really good at cooking delicious things. And he's actually cooking food for us the most of the time. That's not because we can't but...”
“Just tell the truth,” added Piotr. “That's because we're lazy.”
“Hey, that's not so! Well, mostly,” protested Lyosha.
“Oh. Really?” said Piotr. “And if that's not so why didn't you have a dinner at this time? Have you forgotten how to use microwave to heat up some food? Or you are just so lazy?”
“I was waiting for you to come back,” answered Lyosha.
“You was waiting for me because didn't want to do such a little thing yourself,” Piotr didn't believe him.
“Pasha have you made your own room design yet?” Lyosha was clearly trying to change the subject.
“No,” answered Pavel.
“Pasha has known about magic today,” said Piotr. “Of course he can't do it.”
“Oh, that's a shame,” Lyosha got unset. “I love to change the design of my room!”
“Sure you do,” Piotr rolled his eyes. “And I wish you cannon change it.”
“Stop it,” said Lyosha.
“His rooms are complete disaster,” Piotr was addressing to Pavel. “You'll see it and understand how big the problem actually is.”
“Well, the bed on the ceiling was too much, but...” admitted Lyosha.
“You heard it,” interrupted Piotr.
“But that's fun,” continued Lyosha. “You'll like it, Pasha, I'm sure. You are going to know so much magical stuff. Do you know that the clan possesses the secret of time traveling?”
“It's dangerous,” added Piotr.
“Yes, it is,” agreed Lyosha. “That's why there are only two persons from the clan who actually did it. They are the head and an estate trustee. But you can still learn time traveling magic. Just in case. That's so fascinating!”
Pavel was mostly listening again. He didn't know how should father and son normally communicate. So, Pavel couldn't understand was that chatting a common thing or it wasn't. But he still was curious about such relations he had never had himself.
Later in the evening he came back into his rooms. It was already time to go to bed.
Pavel rubbed his temples. He was still feeling that headache which had actually bothered him all day since the creature had shown up. Pavel went to the window and looked out. There were ghosts floating in the yard. Now he actually saw them, yeah. Pavel rubbed his temples again. His headache increased while he was watching the ghosts.
Then a couple of ghosts turned towards Pavel and started watch him back.
Pavel got away from the window.
He could actually go to Piotr and ask if he had some pills for headache. But Pavel just didn't want to disturb him. He preferred to continue ignoring his headache.
And now he was wondering if he could sleep here in those castle with headache and those ghosts floating outside.
