I looked down at my work, the man's blood coating the dagger in my hand by the cut I made in his throat just minutes ago. It was a painful death, slowly bleeding out as he choked on his own blood, trying his best to call for help but to no avail. 

Now that his heart had stopped my mission was complete, the only thing left was to get out of this large building without alerting the security. 

But as the doors were kicked down from behind me it seemed as if it was a little too late to sneak out unnoticed. By the time the men saw the dead corpse of their CEO I had already jumped into action, taking hold of the guard closest to me as I swung him into the other guard with a hard thud.

The clock was ticking, I had to get out before they could call in the higher ups.

I ran out of the room into the corridor, heading for the escape route I had planned ahead of time. Rounding the corner I heard the echoing little ping from the elevator arriving at this floor. Knowing more guards would come out from it I couldn’t hesitate as I continued running towards the elevator. As the doors opened two more guards stepped out, knowing little to nothing that they would be met by a hard kick to the stomach. 

The guard flew backwards, landing hard as the other tried to quickly take out his gun. Though I made a valiant effort in getting out of his aim, he still managed to shoot me in the upper part of my arm. The man seemed a bit proud only for a second as I didn’t scream out in pain, or showed any other sign of discomfort. Not even a flinch as I quickly took a hold of his wrist, bending it in an unnatural way that made the man scream out in pain as he dropped the gun.

What this guy didn’t know was that the place the bullet had hit wasn’t made of flesh and bones, but of metallic and wires. I had lost my right arm a few years back, so it had only been by pure luck that he shot my robotic arm instead of my still functioning one.

I entered the elevator as I pushed the button to the garage floor, letting the doors shut before taking out some equipment. I was going down from the 32th floor, giving me enough time to loosen the hatch to the elevator shaft. It didn’t take long before it was open, giving myself a boost before jumping up. 

As I didn’t want to leave any trace of my presence, more than I already had, I closed the hatch up thoroughly. The guards from before would most likely call in backup, meaning as the elevator would arrive at its designated floor, more guards would be waiting right outside with guns in hand. But they would only find an empty one as I was currently climbing up the emergency ladder to the first floor, where no guards would be present at.

As I got to the closed metal doors I used my robotic arm to force the doors open, climbing out as the few people that were in the lobby looked over with worried eyes.

A few witnesses to my presence here would give me too much trouble, as long as they didn’t hinder my escape route. But just as I suspected they all ran behind cover, using their phones to call the police as I strolled out of the building.

In this part of the city the only thing people were thinking about were themself and their money.
