As we left the dome-like room with our weapons, the room shut, preventing a way for us to enter back in.
"That's scary", Davon said.
"That scares you not the dead bodies and the fact that we are trapped in a survival game", Rafael said.
"I guess our brains work differently right Leaha", Davon said.
"Don't group me in with you, I am with Rafael", I said.
Just then a bit far in the distance we heard a faint howl which then was followed by a petrifying scream. Silence filled the area. Rafael looked around for a split second before grabbing my arm.
"Run", Rafael yelled.
We all started running. I looked behind me to find a wolf chasing after us with a leg in his mouth. We all started screaming hysterically. I noticed that the wolf was quickly gaining on us.
"We need to do something about the wolf or we will all die", I shouted.
"Are you suggesting that we kill it?" Rafael asked.
"Wait what, how are we going to kill that", Davon said.
Before I could even answer the wolf pounced on me. I blocked his mouth with the sword. I threw him off. I stood up and looked at them and nodded. We slowly began to surround the wolf. The wolf charged at Carey but Davon blocked it with his shield. Me and Rafael charged at the wolf. Rafael hits the wolf on the head with the mace but she doesn't kill it. The wolf ran at Rafael. I got my sword and shoved it in the wolf's neck. Blood went all over me.
"Well, I guess we don't have to worry about what to eat for dinner I suppose", Carey said.
We wandered around for a bit dragging the wolf corpse with us. We found a lake with water in it.
"Water, finally", Carey said as he dropped his spear and jumped in. He resurfaced from the lake.
"I guess this game isn't so bad then", Carey said.
Carey scooped up some water in his hand and drank it.
"Come on you guys. When are you ever going to get another opportunity like this", Carey said while splashing some water on us. Rafael and Davon looked at each other then at me then they ran towards the lake and jumped in.
"Come on in leaha the water doesn't bite", Carey said.
As much as I wanted to jump in the lake and play with them something just didn't sit right with me.
"Guys, as fun as it looks I don't think you should be playing in the Lake", I said.
"It's okay, we drank a bunch of the water and we are fine", Davon said.
"It's okay you guys can play In the lake, I'll just look for a place to stay and try to cook the wolf and give us something to eat", I said.
"Okay, it's your loss", Carey said.
I picked up the wolf and headed to the nearest abandoned building. On the way I picked up some objects lying around on the floor. I picked up a few twigs. I also noticed that there were a lot of rocks. I picked up a rock and threw it to the ground. The rock was hollow. I picked up a bunch of rocks from the ground and brought them with me. I thought that since the rocks were hollow we could break the top off and use them as bowls. I entered the abandoned building. Even though the building was abandoned it was still in quite good condition. I laid the twigs and rubbed them together. After a while a fire lit. I skinned the wolf and cooked it over the fire. While the wolf was cooking I got my sword and knocked off the top of the hollow rock. After an hour Rafael, Davon and Carey entered the building. They were shivering as they sat down next to me. We sat down in a comfortable silence. We ate the meal I made with the wolf. We went into a corner and fell asleep. I woke up to find Carey, Davon and Rafael throwing up on the other side of the room.
"What is going on?" I asked.
Before Carey could answer he collapsed. I ran over to him and sat him up against the wall. His lips were a shade of blue. He had been poisoned. I ran over to Davon who was still awake.
"What happened?"I asked.
"The water, it was the water", Davon said.
He shut his eyes and fell asleep. Rafael stumbled over and sat down next to Davon.
"Ask the voice, ask T", Rafael muttered.
She passed out next to Davon. I checked their breathing, they were still alive. I took off my jacket and placed it around them. I grabbed my sword and took off running. I headed towards the dome. Just as I was about to approach the dome someone kicked me in my side. I fell to the ground.
"Who are you?" the guy who kicked me asked. The guy looked about six feet tall. He had long blonde hair and green eyes.
"I am not trying to start anything, I promise", I said.
"That was not what I asked, who are you!", the guy yelled.
I didn't have time to waste having a conversation with this guy so I stood up and punched him in the jaw and ran. He looked quite taken back. I was just about to reach the door then out of nowhere an arrow flew past just barely missing my face. Just as I ducked down two more arrows flew past just inches away from me. I looked around and I found an abandoned car two meters away from me. I grabbed my sword and ran to the car with arrows flying past me centimeters away from me. I jumped to take shelter behind the car but I felt a strong pain in my thigh. One of the arrows shot at me went in my thigh. I screamed. Four more arrows were shot in my direction before an eerie silence filled the area. I looked over to my left and the guy I punched was dead. I guessed that he got shot with one of the arrows but that wasn't the important thing right now. I looked down at my thigh which was bleeding a lot. I ripped off a sleeve off my shirt and braced myself. I pulled the arrow from my thigh and wrapped the ripped sleeve around my wound. I stuck my head out from behind the car bracing myself to be impaled with arrows but none came my way. I stood up carefully and limped towards the dome door. I tried to push the door open but it wouldn't open. I remembered that the voice can see and hear us.
“Hey mister voice, please can you let me in. I need to talk to you, my friends went swimming in the lake and got poisoned and they could die at any moment. Please, I will do anything you ask of me”, I pleaded.
There was no response.
“Please, I will do anything. Please help us”, I yelled.
I crouched down by the door crying my eyes out. Silence fills the area.
“Anything?” the voice asked.
I stood up.
“Anything”, I said.
It went quiet for a few seconds before the door opened. I picked up my sword and used it as a crutch. I entered the room to see the same guards from earlier but instead of guarding the doors they were all guarding a chair.
“Drop your weapon and kick it towards us”, a guard said.
Reluctantly I dropped my sword and kicked it towards them. The guard picked it up and told me to take a seat on the chair in front of me. Just as I sat down, the door to the dome closed. All of a sudden the chair the guards were guarding turned around. There was a man sitting on the chair. The man looked like he was in his early thirties. He has long dark brown hair that was kept in a ponytail. He had a shaved beard and he had a scar that came from his ear to his mouth.
“Leaha is it?”, the guy said.
I instantly recognized that voice. He was the voice on the television and on the speaker in the dome.
“Yes, my name is Leaha”, I replied.
The man whispers something to one of his guards. The guard disappeared for a second before coming back with three tubes. He handed it over to the guy in the chair.
“As I told your friend Rafel my name is T but I prefer it if you call me Theo. I hear your friends went swimming in the lake and got poisoned", Theo said.
"Well-", I began to speak but Theo cut me off.
"Let me guess you want the antidote for the poison right?" he asked.
I nodded.
"Well luckily for you we have three tubes filled with the antidote", he said while pulling three tubes with a blue liquid out of the bag.
"Thank you so much", I said enthusiastically.
"Don't get your hopes up yet I never said I would give you the Antidote", he said.
I stared at him and then stared at the antidote.
"I will do anything to get my hands on the Antidote", I said.
"Even if it means risking your life", he said menacingly.
I gulped. Even though I was scared I knew that they would do the same for me.
"Yes", I replied.
Theo looked at me up and down before he whispered in one of the guards' ears. The guard disappeared and came back with the backpack. Theo put the Antidotes in the bag and then looked at me.
"I put the Antidotes in this bag. I also put in some fresh water and some snacks for you and your friends to eat", Theo said.
I looked at the bag.
"What is the catch?"I asked.
He chuckled for a second before looking at me.
"Well that's for me to know and for you to find out", he said.
He tossed the bag at me and then my sword. I stood up just about to leave.
"Here take this", he said.
He threw a cylinder shaped object at me. It was an ointment for open wounds.
"I can't let your wound get infected. How are you going to repay me if you're dead. And one more thing beware of those you call your friends", he said.
I picked up my sword and limped towards the door. The door opened and I left. Just before the door closed I turned around to see Theo smiling. The thing that unsettled me wasn't the fact that he was just smiling, it was because the look on his face was the look of pure evil.
