The man suddenly glanced at Jun Min's bag and saw three small flower brooches. He stared at them intently.
Jun Min noticed that the man kept on looking at his bag which had the same color as the man's car. He debated whether to run through the heavy downpour or wait until the rain subsided.
In the end, Jun Min decided to ignore the man and held his bag tightly against his chest using his left hand. He looked at the heavy downpour and lifted his right hand to catch some rainwater. He felt its coldness against his palm. He watched as some of the rainwater jumped out of his hand while some of the water slowly gathered at the center of his palm. Once he closed his hand a lot of the rainwater would try to escape from his grasp and only a little would remain.
His attention shifted to the shiny car of the man parked nearby which was mercilessly attacked by the rain but didn't fight back and remained in place for it didn't have the power to do so.
I don't have a lot of money ah. I don't have expensive things inside my bag either. Jun Min took a deep breath. He noticed that the other man took a step towards him while smiling at him mischievously.
Jun Min could feel his heart beating faster, he looked around and saw no one. He saw an empty street and how the rain joined the trees as it danced with the wind but he knew that the dance would eventually stop once the rain decided to leave the trees.
Jun Min heard a footstep in his direction which drew his attention back to reality.
Oh my god! I think I'm gonna be penniless this month. I should have joined the other kids when they were practicing self-defense before but what did I do? I spent my free time sleeping.
"Where are the other people ah?" Jun Min whispered to himself but it was enough for the other person to hear.
"Is he still coming?" The man asked.
He? For a moment, Jun Min was taken aback by the man's question and then realized who the other man was referring to. "Y--y--yes." Jun Min answered while keeping his hand from shaking as he checked his phone and put it back inside his bag.
I have a very bad feeling about this. Jun Min thought. He tried to take a step back while thinking about where to run. Should he go east? west? or just cross the road? Jun Min was about to take a step but he didn't notice a small pebble on the ground which was wet due to the heavy downpour. He accidentally stepped on it and lost his balance.
He closed his eyes and waited for his body to hit the cold ground while hugging his bag tightly with both hands as if it would lessen the pain that he would feel from the impact but it never came as he felt a strong arm wrapped around his waist. Jun Min slowly opened his eyes and was greeted by a pair of golden eyes still looking at his bag.
What's with this position ah. Jun Min tried to stand but he noticed that the arm wrapped around his waist tightened. The other man slowly lifted his right hand and seemed to touch Jun Min's bag.
"I---I don't have a lot of money... for now." Jun Min said with unshed tears in his eyes. "D--do you like my bag that much? Please spare me and my money."
The man looked at him amusingly and let go of him while crossing his arms against his chest.
"Oh... I can give you a lot of money. How much do you want?" The man asked him with a serious expression on his face.
"I don't want to be involved in some kind of shady business ah." Jun Min took a step back away from the stranger but he couldn't take any step farther as he felt his back against the cold wall. He heard the man laugh and his husky voice was like footprints leaving small traces on his heart.
"Oh... It's okay. I will take your chrysanthemum then." The man didn't wait for Jun Min's reply and pinned him against the wall while holding both of his shoulders. Jun Min was caught off guard and almost let go of his bag. Fortunately, he was able to hold it before it left his grasp.
My chrysanthemum? What chrysanthemum ah? Jun Min had a panicked expression on his face and tried to escape from the man but Jun Min's strength was not on par with the man's strength. He could sense a faint smell coming from the man's mouth. Did he drink coffee a while ago? Jun Min thought. Wait! Wait! I shouldn't be thinking about this kind of thing. How can I escape from him ah?
I'm finished. The villain in my dreams is not this harsh ah. I guess they really are two different people having the same face. Jun Min closed his eyes and prevented the tears from falling. He suddenly felt a pain in the lower half of his body.
(... to be continued.)
