“Why?” He asked bluntly
“Because he is an Alpha? Do you like his pheromones that much? Or is it the fact that he is so packed?” There was something more behind these words, not only anger but Noah felt hurt. He felt rejected by Ina. His beautiful amber eyes were watery. Ina felt bad.
“Noah, you can’t force feelings. I like you. I like you like a brother. You are very dear to me.”
“Brother?” Noah interrupted her “I want you to see the men in me, I will prove to you that I’m a worthy man. You will see.” He didn’t wait for Ina to answer and turned away, running fast out of the cave. Ina wanted to follow him but wasn’t sure what she should say. So she remained in place with her arms down and a feeling of guilt.
Two days passed and Noah kept his distance, she barely saw him, however Uri wasn’t wasting his time. The past few days they were practically inseparable. Uri followed her everywhere and Ina got used to his calm appearance, fresh smell of pheromones and his attentiveness. It was very comforting to have someone who cared about you around. That feeling was new.
Ina was sitting in the Pack’s hall of Memory. On the wall there were countless pictures showing different important situations that have occured in the pack. They couldn’t read or write anymore, so that way they kept the memory of those happenings.
“Ina! I have been looking for you everywhere.” Ina turned around only to notice Asira coming in.
“Oh hi Asira. How’s things with Idir?” Ina asked.
“We’re fine but more importantly I just overheard Uri talking with his father yesterday.” Asira’s face was full of excitement and it made Ina curious too.
“They were quarreling, Uri really likes you and his father, well …”
“He doesn’t like me at all.” Ina finished her sentence. The silence that followed only confirmed what Ina has just said.
“Don’t worry Ina, maby Uri will convince his father somehow.” Asira was trying to comfort her but deep inside Ina knew. They both went back to the main hall. Ina was looking around hoping to see Noah somewhere. Her dear friend was nowhere to be seen however she noticed Uri. He approached her as soon as he saw her.
“Ina we need to talk.” He looked serious.
“Hmm I will leave you alone.” Asira smiled and stepped aside. Ina looked up at Uri. He was composed and she could smell fint pheromones from him, it was a nice soothing scent. Uri was holding her hands and his thumbs were rubbing her palms.
“I had a talk with my father, he is against our relationship but I told him that you are very important to me and that I won’t back out. I want you Ina to be my Omega, only mine.” His dark eyes were so focused on her face. “I can quit everything but I won’t give up on you.” That confession startled Ina, she wasn’t expecting anything like that. She felt flattered, like never before. She forgot all the people around, it was just as if the whole world shrugged to both of them standing and holding hands. Ina stood on her tiptoes and kissed Uri on his lips.
“I like you too, Uri.” She replied, caught by the moment. Uri smiled, his pheromones became stronger and Ina flushed. She realized that many other eyes were watching them among all the people who were present in the main cave Ina noticed Noah. His lips were pursed together and fist clenched. He must have seen how she kissed Uri.
“Ina, I need to go, we are having a patrol run, but I will come in the evening and hope to spend it with you.” He stroked her curly light brown hair. Inna nodded in agreement. Uri left and she decided to talk to Noah. He was already gone and she couldn’t find him anywhere. That was bad, he was avoiding her all the time and now he saw them together and was probably even more angry and disappointed with her. Ina sighted. There was a chance he was somewhere out running so she decided to look for him and check their favorite places. On her way Ina noticed the pack’s Alpha. He was standing at the entrance and looking straight at her. It was too late to pretend she hasn’t seen him or escape without talking to him, so she decided to approach him boldly.
“Alpha.” She bowed her head showing the usual respect.
“Ina, I was waiting for you.” The Alphas deep voice was similar to Uri’s however Ina felt goosebumps hearing those words. She was sure he was going to scold her for being involved with his precious son. Still she was looking him straight in the eyes, it was a challenging look.
“I can see why my son lost his head for you, those amazing golden eyes and the whole package is really appealing. You look just like your mother. I remember how jealous we all were when your father brought her home. I admit I was against your relationship. I had other plans for Uri. I hoped he would help me connect with the Dark moon Pack.” He rubbed the bridge of his nose making a pause, which made Ina feel even more out of place. “But I’m not a monster, little Omega. I love my son and I don’t want him to suffer. For his sake I will accept it.” Inas eyes widen in shock. She has never, even in her wildest dreams expected that something like this might happen.
“Thank you Alpha.” That was all she was able to say. Ina wanted to excuse herself and leave the cave when she saw two wolves rushing into the cave. They shifted and quickly and two warriors ran up to the pack’s Alpha.
“Alpha, the city men are hunting again!”
