Ina didn’t wake up right away. It took her a while to recover all her senses. What startled her first was the smell, smell of dirt, piss and something else she couldn’t identify. She had problems opening her eyes. Her head was throbbing and she felt nauseous. The first thing she saw was a cage. She was lying in one. It wasn’t big; she could either stand up or lay down, for any more movement there was no space. Her paws still felt numb and Ina felt slight panic. She was trying to look around. She wasn’t alone here. Ina noticed a few other cages like hers. Inside she could see some furry shapes, but their smell wasn’t familiar. They must have been from some other pack. She realized Noah wasn’t here either. That was good. She truly hoped he managed to get back home safely.
Ina tried to stand up, it was hard and her head was spinning but she was standing. She felt awfully alone, she wanted to ask where she was. The room she was in was badly lit, there was only one small window on her right. The window was high and she could see nothing through it. Opposite to it there was a door. That was all, nobody made a sound, it was almost dead silence and Ina didn’t know if she could address anyone here. She sighted and laid back again. She felt thirst. Not for the first time in her life but still it added up to the shitty feeling of this gloomy place.
It must have been evening or so, looking at the change in the light coming from the window when the door opened. A young man came in. He was carrying a bucket of water, Ina could smell it from afar. The other wolves got excited. The man was handing each wolf some water with a bowl. As soon as it was empty he moved to another one. Finally it was Ina’s turn. Despite everything the water felt really good. Ina was drinking greedily. Throwing glimpses at the man. He had short brown hair and his eyes were brown too. He wasn’t old, he was wearing simple clothes and what was astonishing to Ina, he was wearing a collar on his neck.
The man noticed her intense stare. For a moment they looked each other in the eyes.
“You are new here, right.” His voice was hushed. “I will give you one piece of advice, If they ask you to shift, do it. They have their ways to force you to do so. Listen to them or you will only get hurt.” Having said that, he stood up and moved to another cage. When he finished ina and the other wolves were left alone again.
It was dark now, Ina couldn’t sleep. She was anxious and restless. The happenings from before kept flooding her mind. She was repeating the whole situation thinking what she might possibly have done to avoid this situation. She was analyzing it over and over again. It took her half of the night to understand and acknowledge it wasn’t her fault. She could do nothing, it was all her pack’s Alpha doing. He set her up. He probably wanted to protect his precious son Uri from engaging with her. Well his problem was solved and now she was here, in a cage. At some point she got tired and finally fell asleep.
Ina was woken up by the sound of the opened door. Two people stepped in. One was a tall man with blonde short hair and the other was the young man from before. The blonde one looked around and pointed at one of the cages.
“That one.” A strong voice gave a clear order.
The other man quickly opened the cage and after a second of hesitation reached for the wolf lying inside. The wolf barked and attacked the hand reaching for him. The brown haired man managed to pull his hand out before he got bitten. a sound of slap followed, the blond guy hit the other one in the face.
“Can’t you do anything right?” Then there was a sight of displeasure and the blond man, Ina called him Master in her head, pulled something out of his pocket. He placed this object to the back of the wolf that was pressed against the cage. Then there was a sound of buzzing and loud scowl. Whatever it was, it must have hurt like hell.
The wolf obeyed, he left the cage and with his tail tucked between his legs followed them out of the room. Silence. Time flew and the men came back. This time they approached Ina’s cage. She knew what was about to happen. She remembered the advice given to her yesterday and well she witnessed what happened when you didn’t obey.
The Master squatted down and smiled. He looked her straight in the eyes.
“It’s your turn, little Omega.” He said gently.
Ina knew better than to believe in that gentle voice. Obey or be punished, she learned the first lesson fortunately not on her own skin. She had a lot of time to think everything over.
The cage’s door opened and she obediently went out. Ina decided to save her strengths. there was no way she could escape from this room, however new places create new opportunities.
“What a well behaving Omega.” The Master smiled again, touching her head to stroke her fur. Ina didn’t like that. She threw him an angry glance.
“A perfect combination, I like that spark of anger in your beautiful eyes combined with the submission you show. Follow me.” That was the end of the whole conversation. The man wearing a collar seemed relieved that it went smoothly. He looked her in the eyes and nodded in understanding. She took his advice and probably saved him the trouble or punishment.
The door opened showing a long corridor behind them and Ina followed the men.
