Chapter 5
We walk back home holding hands when it starts to get dark. When we get to our houses and have to go different ways I give Ash a kiss and head to my front door. I open the door and my dad is standing there, he looks pissed. “Who is that and why did you kiss him?” He throws one of his bottles at me but I dodge it and it shatters against the wall.
“I want you to stay away from that fagot.” he keeps yelling.
Ash’s point of view. I ran into my house and to my room rather happily though it’ll take me a bit to get used to being in a relationship but when I opened my window I heard yelling and glass shattering. I start getting worried hoping that Waylen is ok and sit on the floor next to my window until I hear a calm voice. “Hey Starboy, you there?” I quickly got up and looked out the window.
“Aw Starboy, don’t give me that face, I’m ok, I promise,” I gave a small smile and sighed, his smile is calm and sweet like always.
“Ok..” I say but it came out a bit high pitched. He looks at his watch.
“Hey it's the weekend tomorrow, you wanna go do something,” he asks kindly and quietly.
“Yeah that would be nice,” we both smile and go to bed.
Waylen’s point of view. I wake up and look at my window, I see another note and quickly grab and open it.
Dear Checker boy,
Thank you for being with me after what happened at school and I guess you should know more about me, I guess you’ve most likely noticed that my parents aren't around when you come over, they abandoned me as soon as they saw the signs of me being gay, but they still pay child support, I use it to buy food and pay bills. I’m fine though, well at least now that I have you that is. ;)
P.s. thank you for taking me to that cafe
Love,
Starboy
I smile at the letter even though it’s a bit sad, I look out the window and see Ash put on his star necklace. I jump out of my window and fall. Ash opens his window and looks down at me laughing and I laugh as well. “What were you trying to do?” he asks, still laughing. I look up at him still lying in the grass, I stick my tongue out at him. I get up and brush off my pants.
“Are you ready to go?” I ask, leaning on his window.
“Yeah,” he says, his sunshine smile at its brightest. If it was a real sun it’d be blinding me (I need to stop with the cheesy jokes). I grab his hand and he climbs out of his window, we go around back in case my dad is watching. We make it to our special place and watch the waterfall. I look over at Ash as he picks some flowers, sticks, and vines, he puts them together tieing the vines. When he finishes I notice it's a flower crown. He walks over to me putting the flower crown on my head causing me to smile.
“Thanks, it's pretty,” I say, touching the pedals gently.
“Your welcome,” Ash says, still smiling, he makes another one for himself. He puts it on then walks back over to me laying his head on my shoulder. I pick him up so he’s on my lap and I wrap my arms around him. He leans back against me and I lay my head on his shoulder instead, the comfort makes me want time to stop so it’ll last longer, and with how relaxed I can tell Ash feels, he wants the same.
