Rebecca's POV
My twin brother -Alex- is an idiot. First, he fell for that stupid nerd. Then, he caused a bunch of trouble by kissing the guy. Sure, I didn't exactly care about all that, but even I was upset that two of Nathan's minions tried to kidnap Aiden. I was mainly upset because this situation caused Alex so much stress. As much as I love Nathan, I don't like his little "gang" as much, even if I had slept with about half of them.
"Rebecca! Can you take us to the playground, pretty please?" Cloe begged. After my conversation with Alex, these two girls dragged me all around. From one room to another and currently the garden. I sighed, hoping no one from my school would see me with these two lunatics when, and if, I did take them to the playground. Unfortunately, the puppy eyes they gave me made it impossible to say no.
"Fine, but you better behave yourselves when crossing the road," I said with a sigh as I prepared myself for the squeals and 'thank you's, which came a mere second later. We walked to the playground, and I was slightly concerned when I heard shouting from a house nearby. Thankfully, Kayla and Cloe seemed to be oblivious to the noise as they played on the playground equipment. After about half an hour of playing with the girls, I decided we'd go home. 'I wonder who that was.' I thought, 'Who would argue so loudly on a Friday evening?'
Aiden's POV
The birds chirping outside at 9 am on a Saturday would be calming, but I couldn’t even hear them. Normally, that’s what woke me up; a certain woman seemed to have forgotten how early it was to have an argument.
"I've said it before, and I'll repeat myself as much as necessary: I will not allow my son to be like that! Today I will ask, and then we'll decide what to do," My mother shouted, probably on a phone call with my dad like last time. 'I wonder if she'll forget about this by tonight.' I let my thoughts wander as I lay back down in my bed, 'Kayla's probably going to be gone until about 1 pm, so maybe mum will ask me that... thing... at breakfast, and I can lie, and this stuff will finally stop... But what can my mum do, really? She wouldn't hit me, right? Everyone exaggerates things sometimes...'
Once I heard the shouting cease, I waited for a few minutes, went downstairs and looked in the fridge for any leftovers from yesterday. "Oh, Aiden, I barely heard you coming down. Do you want me to make you something for breakfast?" my mother asked, sounding just the same as usual, but it's almost as if I imagined her voice sounding a bit forced. Maybe it was because of what I overheard, or perhaps she was faking her smile and happiness right now, and I was seeing it as bright as day.
Ooooo drama. It’s moments like these that I really feel bad for my characters lol. Anyway, I hope your luck today is as good as mine was. I hope you have a wonderful day/night/whatever time it is for you! Comment your thoughts on the series or give me some suggestions you have if you have any you want to share. Make sure to take care of yourself! Not every day will be good, but there are always those rare moments of good luck and happiness, and I hope that is today, and every other day, for you :)
