After a grand time letting herself be Dewi's dress up doll for a few hours, with Blake getting to see the show. And then getting things together, it was time for the spa. Greer was a bit nervous. She wasn't sure if there was a chance other parents would show up or not. She just hoped she made a good impression. "Now remember My ma can be a lot and Dad will probably be threatening your life with a glare but that's a he's my dad thing rather than a he's gonna kill you thing."
"Noted and noted. Don't worry, G, everything's going to be fine..."
"What if they annoy you too much? Or your or Dewi's parents show up for pre thanksgiving relaxation and I embarrass you?" She leaned against Blake as they walked. "You two are the best things to happen to me in my life."
"Your parents aren't going to annoy us or scare us off. Sato and Lu are supposed to be spending the day with my parents so I know they aren't planning to be here. And Dewi's parents are supposed to be out of country for three more days. Even when you finally meet both our biological families, you're not going to embarrass us. Our parents are going to adore you."
She nodded a bit. Before she could speak the rapid sound of a woman walking quickly in heels came up. "Tiny Tot! There you are!"
With the heels her mother was 5ft. This was the woman terrorizing half the government. She smiled and hugged Greer, pulling her down to get her a kiss. She looked at Blake and Dewi and smiled. "And you must be her boyfriends! We have been waiting so long!" She quickly hugged them both.
"It's nice to meet you, Ma'am."
"Oh and such good boys... lets see you are Blake and you are Dewi, yes?"
Mr Smith walked up and looked them up and down. He offered his hand to Dewi first.
Blake answers Mrs. Smith in affirmative as Dewi takes the offered hand. "It's nice to meet you too, Sir."
He looked at Dewi then Blake while holding Dewi's hand firmly. "Either of you gets her pregnant before marriage then the other can worry about fathering the rest of my grandkids... understand?"
"Oh my GOD DAD!" Greer punched him in the arm harder than she did the guys, he didn't flinch. Her mother waved her hand.
"If they are good boys then it doesn't matter. If they are less than good then the threat is fine."
"It's okay, Greer. Dew's mom made a similar threat when I first met her, except her words were more along of the lines of 'if you pressure my bloom into getting pregnant, you'll never see me coming'... It's just parents being protective which is totally understandable when you don't know the person or what they're like."
Mrs. Smith blinked. "Dewi can become female?"
"Kinda it's complicated. He’s male, except when he feels like being female."
Mrs Smith smiled. "Well if you ever want to be female for a while, let me know and I can do your nails. Greer can do a fantastic job as well but she is so shy about that."
"Ma.... I swear I will carry you over my shoulder to the front desk."
"Yes yes dear..." Mrs. Smith started walking between the boys, Mr smith and Greer behind. "Later if you have time I have some wonderful pictures of her in dance and in kickboxing. I'll also have to tell you her favorite treats so you can get her to calm down."
“You mean like anything super spicy or taking her coffee extra strong, black and with a teaspoon of cinnamon...?"
Mr Smith looked to Greer. "...it tastes better and it's good for your heart."
Once they get to the check in desk, Dewi steps up. "Party of five under the name 'Dew'...? I have my ID when it prompts you for it."
Mrs Smith looked to Greer. "YOu can be more affectionate with the boys you know. You haven't held their hand once."
"Ma... I want dad to try not to kill them."
Dewi comes back with their lanyards and a map of the spa's services after thanking the receptionist for their hard work. "It's okay if Greer's shy about being affectionate. She's nervous about us all getting along and we know it doesn't mean she likes us any less..." He starts handing out the lanyards. "Here you go, Princess. This will get you into different areas and also works as payment for anything you want to buy like drinks or food. If any staff hand you something with a lotus symbol, they messed up your order so don't drink it and politely ask for the correct drink... The whole staff is highly competent, but for some reason that one mix up keeps happening..."
"Alright." Mrs Smith went up to her husband and gave him a nice kiss and grabbed his butt. "Now dear... let's go change. I want to see you in those swim trunks you got."
"....So I forgot to mention because I forget how it might be weird to some people, when Ma isn't mad? Those two are like no one is around at all." She watched as her dad smacked Mrs. Smith's butt back as they went to the changing rooms. "I'll see you guys in a minute."
The boys smile, seemingly not even phased by the two adults' behavior. "See you soon, G."
Mr Smith went with them. "So, we're gonna have a talk boys, just us."
"Okay." Neither of them seemed overly worried.
Once they were alone and changing he looked. "She ever tell you what happened between her and Bill?"
"Only that he bullied her when they were kids... She can't handle having long hair because of how bad it was."
He looked pissed. "Knew lil shit was lying... teachers musta covered... but no I mean from when she dated him."
"No. We don't talk exes until the person's ready to talk about it. She hasn't brought it up so we don't ask..."
He sighed. "Dammit...I was hoping she mighta told you what happened before they broke up. Her Ma acts like she doesn't noticed but... mirror left her room shortly after and half her clothes ended up at her cousins." He looked at them. "Look I don't mind y'all dating her. Had ten years to get used to that idea. But I want you to tell me what happened when you find out."
"... That... might conflict with another promise we made... A future version of Greer made us promise to get permission from Greer before taking any action against anyone who's wronged her. If whatever happened between them might cause you to harm him and we tell you knowing that, it would be the same as harming him ourselves. The most we can promise is we'll encourage her to open up to you herself about what happened..."
"I won't do nothin. Sides it's her ma that would murder. Happily. She'd go to jail with a smile on her face to boot. I just want to know what happened to my little girl." He pulled out his wallet. They could see a picture of a younger Greer wearing a string bikini. "Last time I saw her in a suit at all. After that, preferred to go in a shirt and shorts."
"She kept being told she looks like a guy and isn't feminine... Who would want to wear clothes they've been conditioned to believe don't suit them? No matter what exactly happened while they were dating, that's the reason her fashion choices changed... When we started dating, she only had a single request; never tell her she looks like a guy. Not make sure to spend time together or show that we're think about her... She didn't care what dating looked like as long as we consider her a girl..."
He sighed. "That came from most the town. But that's the thing... she was wearin' this the day before they broke up. He encouraged her to buy it 'fore they went to the lake."
"... 'The person who used to tell me I'm ugly now loves me and thinks I'm pretty enough to wear these kinds of clothes. It must be true...' Whatever happened between that picture and their breakup, it destroyed any confidence she had built that the rest of the town was wrong and it reinforced the idea that she looked too much like a guy. I'm starting to understand why future Greer would make us promise not to do anything behind her back..."
“Yeah... it’s the only reason I didn’t deal with the ass myself. She wanted it done she woulda done it... but she ain’t telling me what happened. I tried.”
"She might just still need some time before she's ready to talk to anyone about it... We only found out about the bullying because her hair got caught while cuddling during a movie and she had a full on panic attack. Some things just take more time before we're ready to face it... because talking about it means acknowledging that it happened and that's not always as easy as it seems. Even after you think the wounds have healed."
He nodded a bit. "Just... tell me when you find out. I won't tell her Ma if ya do but... Just do this alright? I need to know what happend." He finished getting ready. "Meantime our women are gonna wanna see their men. Let's get out there."
He didn't need to tell Blake and Dewi twice...
Her mother was fussing a bit. "Greer you could just unzip that a little bit, get the boys a little show."
"There’s nothing in there TO show Ma. Oh hey guys."
"Hey, G... So where do we want to go first?"
Mrs Smith went up to her husband, Hugging his arm. "Well. how about Dewi leads us to what Greer would like best for the first thing. Hmm?"
Greer shrugged, looking fine with it.
Dewi looks like he's thinking hard, as if this was a test and was worried about passing. Blake puts a hand on his shoulder. "Don't overthink it, Dewdrop..."
He relaxes and it's like that's all that was needed for him to figure it out. "There's some really nice strolling paths past the pool area. Most people tend to go walking after doing other things but nothing says we can't start with it..."
Greer smiled. "That sounds great." She took both their hands and started walking with them. Mrs Smith and Mr Smith smiled, walking a bit behind them.
