There are some things in life we want to ignore. But they, in fact, are impossible to ignore. And one of them is the mirror, isn’t it? Every day, waking up, glancing into the mirror, looking like a clown is quite a normal case for everyone.
In case of girls, it is even more complicated, especially when slept with makeup on. Waking up in the morning and looking into the mirror is like watching someone possessed by a demon, going to kill some good-kind soul.
This mirror sometimes becomes our real enemy. You know what kind of person you are from the inside, but others don’t. Honestly, the first thing they notice is your face. Believe it or not, this is what the society is. They judge you by your looks, not by the warmth you carry in your heart.
What if you were proud of yourself? I mean, next to impossible but not fully impossible. Like Adaliya, Mallisa and Mira, you can also conquer your insecurities. You don’t know these names, so let me take you on this ride where you’ll know the journey of these three.
Adaliya belonged to an Afro-American family. She grew up in a racist society and was cursed for her complexion. She was an introvert. She didn’t care much about what the people said and kept on listening to their taunts silently.
While Mira had her own insecurities. She was an Asian. Her parents were very strict and overprotective. She was forbidden to go out at night, or chat with boys. She had to score above ninety-five on every mark sheet or she’ll be grounded.
Mallisa on the other hand was a wild teenager, she was silent and violent. She scored poor in exams but was good at drawing, gymnastics, and a few other extra-curricular activities. She wanted to be a pianist. She was hated by her teachers for she was a dumb potato who could not solve a simple mathematical equation, and the worst part, she was bullied for her condition called heterochromia (Having eyes of two different colours), she had one blue and one green eye. She never even talked to her parents about it. She was very insecure regarding her looks. She wore makeup, heavier than her own face.
These three were different with different problems but one or the other way were stuck under equal circumstances. They all had the society imposing restrictions on them in different ways. They were teenagers fighting insecurities, in their own different ways.
