“Are you excited for the carnival?” Gracie asked.
“I am,” I answered.
“Same! I can’t wait to beat all the carnival games!” Riley said, excitedly.
Riley knew exactly what to do to win all the carnival games. She knew all the tricks and how to win all the prizes. Riley was practically the carnival game expert.
Gracie, Riley, and I laughed.
“What time do you all want to be picked up?” Gracie asked. “Ethan offered to pick you guys up.”
“I’m ok. Rowan is going to pick me up,” Riley said.
“Ooo~!” Gracie and I said in unison, teasingly.
Riley laughed.
“We’re just friends,” Riley said, unconvincingly.
“Just friends that are going on three dates to see if they want to be more or just friends,” Gracie said.
Gracie and I then laughed.
“Laugh all you want guys,” Riley said, crossing her arms with a smile on her face.
“What about you, Dahlia? Do you need Ethan and I to drive you to the carnival?” Gracie asked, changing the subject.
“I wouldn’t want to be a third wheel,” I said.
Gracie laughed.
“You wouldn’t be a third wheel,” Gracie said.
“Sure~. Whatever you say. I’ll be the judge of that,” I said, rolling my eyes teasingly.
“Why don’t you invite Adrien?” Gracie asked.
Adrien. I hadn’t talked to him since we had kissed after he and Jolene broke up. It had been two weeks since then.
“I don’t know. I haven’t talked to him since we kissed,” I said.
“You should talk to him before it gets more weird,” Riley said.
“I agree,” Gracie said with a nodd.
“Ok. I’ll ask him if he wants to come,” I said. “I don’t think he’ll want to go with me though.”
“You never know,” Gracie said with a shrug.
“Gracie’s right. You might as well ask,” Riley agreed.
I walked right out of science class and right into someone. My binder slipped out of my hands and fell to the floor. My papers in my binder are scattered everywhere.
“I’m so sorry,” I said, feeling guilty for not watching where I was going.
I bent down to the ground and began picking up my papers.
“It’s ok. I’m sorry, it was my fault. I should’ve watched where I was going,” A familiar voice said.
The person bent down and began helping me gather my papers.
“Thank…,” I said, looking up to see Adrien helping me. “You.”
“No problem,” Adrien said, still not looking up.
He was too busy straightening the stack of papers in his hands.
“Here you go,” Adrien said, looking up at me with a smile, while handing me the stack of papers.
Adrien looked surprised to see me because his smile dropped.
“Hey,” I said.
“Hey,” Adrien said.
“The school’s carnival is tonight,” I said. “I was wondering if maybe you’d like to come with us? Gracie, Ethan, Riley, Rowan, and I are all going together.”
Adrien stood there for a moment as if in thought.
“Sure,” Adrien finally said.
“Awesome,” I said with a smile. “We’ll pick you up at seven. See you then!”
I then turned to walk to the cafeteria.
“See ya,” I heard Adrien say as I walked away.
“Are you guys ready to go? We gotta pick up Rowan and Adrien,” Ethan shouted from downstairs.
“One minute, love!” Gracie shouted back.
Gracie quickly finished braiding my hair in a fishtail braid and stepped back to admire it.
“You look great! Adrien won’t be able to resist you now!” Gracie said with a huge smile.
I laughed, my gold hoop earrings swinging back and forth.
“You guys done?” Riley asked impatiently.
She wore a black turtleneck and blue jeans with black black boots. Riley had small silver hoop earrings that hung down from her ears.
“Yes,” Gracie said.
She wore a dark green turtleneck and blue jeans with dark brown fur boots. Gracie had gold hoop earrings hanging down from her ears and a gold heart locket around her neck.
“Yes,” I said, standing up, off my bed.
I walked over to the mirror and stared at my reflection.
My hair was held back in a beautiful and perfect fishtail braid with gold hoop earrings dangling from my ears. I wore a turquoise turtleneck with blue jeans and a gold necklace with my name on it in cursive gold letters. I wore brown short heeled boots.
After I finished looking in the mirror, we all headed downstairs.
“There you guys are,” Ethan said, rolling his eyes with a smile on his face.
“You can’t rush perfection,” Gracie said, walking over to Ethan. She then planted a kiss on his cheek.
“Let’s go. Rowan just texted me that he’s ready,” Riley said, impatiently.
“Ooo~. Someone’s in a rush to see someone,” I said, teasingly.
Riley blushed hardcore and mumbled, “Whatever.”
Rowan climbed into the backseat of the car and sat next to Riley.
“Hey,” Rowan said with a smile on his face as he buckled.
“Hey,” Riley said with a smile.
“We’re gonna pick up Adrien next,” Ethan informed everyone. “Dahlia, do you mind sitting in the back with Adrien so he isn’t by himself, since there’s no room for him anywhere else?”
“I don’t mind,” I said, trying my best not to get excited.
A little while later, we arrived at Adrien’s house and he climbed into the trunk of the car and climbed into a seat.
“Dahlia’s gonna sit with you so you're not lonely back here. It’s an hour drive. She’s gonna have to sit in your lap for a minute while I pull up the other seat,” Ethan informed Adrien.
“Ok,” Adrien said, calmly.
I quickly climbed in and sat down in Adrien’s lap while Ethan pulled up the other seat.
“Sorry,” I whispered, feeling embarrassed. I could feel my cheeks turn red. I was so close to Adrien I could smell his wonderful cologne.
“You’re fine,” Adrien whispered back, comfortingly.
As soon as Ethan got the seat up, I quickly hopped out of Adrien’s lap and into the seat next to him. Ethan then closed the trunk and hopped back in the driver’s seat of the car. He started the car and we were on the road again.
“How are you?” Adrien asked.
“I’m pretty good. You?” I replied.
“Pretty good,” Adrien said.
Ask him. Ask him. You know you want to. Just ask him.
“So…remember the kiss in my room…,” I started, feeling embarrassed about bringing it up.
“Yeah,” Adrien said with a smile, his adorable dimples showing. “That was pretty great.”
I couldn’t help but smile too.
“Yes it was,” I said. “But, I really wanted to talk to you about that kiss that happened in the living room.”
Adrien watched me as I continued talking.
“I just want to know if you like me too or if you’re just playing with my feelings or using me to get over my sister,” I began to rant.
Adrien then grabbed both of my hands, placing them in his, making me go quiet.
“I like you too,” Adrien said with a smile on his face, showing his dimples.
I smiled.
“So…what now?” I asked.
“I don’t know, but I do know this,” Adrien said, grabbing my chin and holding it in his hands. “I’ve been wanting to kiss you since you sat on my lap.”
Adrien then kissed me. It was soft, gentle, and sweet all wrapped into one. It was beautiful.
I pulled away and said, “Pervert.”
Adrien chuckled and then kissed me again. And again. Over and over. Filling my head with nothing else, but his lips touching mine.
