Really Truck-Kun, Please Stop!

Revin' It Up! (Ep 2)

Revin' It Up! (Ep 2)

Dec 04, 2022

Why do I always have to remind myself of my pitiful past? All I could see was my last year. I had loads of friends then, we had an awesome time together and were inseperable. By the end of the year we were strangers. Due to the fact that they, just like my parents, would always discourage me from following my dreams as a professional dancer. Not because of any stigma but because they did not think I could do it, and after some time I thought so too.
I was...regaining consiousness. Slowly. A hospital room. With my eyes fully open I saw a woman with long locks that resembled the fur of a wolf. She whipped her head back and stared at me aghast.
"He should already be in another world by now." She said in disbelief. As if she teleported she was at the bedside observing my face. Brushing her soft hands by head she kept on monitoring until our eyes met. She started, "I'm sure you have questions." Before I could open my mouth I was interrupted by her announcing that I was selected as Elderia's thirteenth Chosen One. I mean, that is crazy. Some far away fantasy world that needs my help, this is like one of those Isekai stories. Couldn't be, those need some hopeless, pessimistic main character. Did I bring up the fact that I recently got into gardening?
"I am humbled, your Majesty. I assume your people are struggling under the tyranny of a King who lords over the wicked and I am your last hope. Or worse, is there a rare artefact that only I can interact with to ensure prosperity for your incredible lands.Anything to help others! That's what I always say."
"Economic Growth." She said in a deadpan voice.
Kirstiella further explained that she was part of Elderia's esteemed tourist department and to bolster economic activity more people were needed. A simple task because Elderia was seen by all as a perfect holiday destination but after the unseen death of twelve visitors from Earth nobody wanted to go. A big problem as Elderia was going through a very human concept, recession.
She took out an object all Elderians use to find new visitors. A small, long creature with a bulging eye and a long tube like mouth. After sniffing around me it reported that I was not special in any category and lacked any ambitions. "Perfect," She squealed. "He must be hit with Truck-kun once more to start the process."

After what felt like hours arguing, we came to an agreement. I would not go to my place of de- I mean the wonderful Elderia and I would help them find another candidate. Kirstiella told me that some guy called Truck-kun was not happy with the decision and that he was a real bombastic character. Guess that is a problem for another day
