"First of all Merry Christmas everyone! Secondly I hope everyone gets many presents." - The Author
This is a special Christmas Episode that has nothing to do with the story whatsoever, enjoy!
POV: Arden (as usual, I won't include POV changes because I personally as a reader find them annoying, I mean they always come when something interesting is happening and force the reader to wait until the other person discovers what has happened. If I am gravely wrong about this or you still want them, be sure to tell me.)
24th December 1792 Continent Onura
It was Christmas, snow was falling outside, I loved the winter season and the snow. Mom was baking cookies in the kitchen, there were presents under the Christmas tree. Gosh, how much I loved this day of the year. It was truly everychilds dream. I moved away from the window, where I was watching snowflakes fall to the ground, adding to the ever growing white mass of snow that had accumulated over the past days. We always got snow during winter, since the village was located in the mountains of our island. Mountains were rare in Onura which consisted almost entirely of flat islands. This was one of the reasons why our normaly quiet village turned into a bustling city during winter, it was full of ski tourists who were enjoying the seemingly endless snow here. But on Christmas, all went quiet. Either the people stayed in their hotels or went back home to be with their families. As I noticed the smell of the freshly backed gingerbread men in the kitchen. I rushed towards my mother, who handed me one saying "You can only have one. If you want more, you can have them after dinner." I smiled happily saying "Thank you." I loved the sweets my mother baked, I huridly ate the delicous gingerbread man and went on my way back to the window. Where I spotted my friends playing outside, as soon as they saw me, they motioned for me to come play with them. My mother already hat anticipated what I wanted to do, since she came to me holding a thick winter jacket and gloves "Sweetie, make sure to dress warm. I don't want u getting a cold when u play with ur friends." she said. I took the jacket and gloves, which were fluffy and warm. "See you later mom." I said, waiting at the door for her answer in the kitchen. "Later sweetie." she called out from the kitchen, where she was probably baking more. Hastly I opened the door and rushed outside to play with my friends.
Time flew by as we were throwing snowballs at eachother, making snowangles, building forts in the snow and had a happy time together.
As it was getting dark, we parted ways, everyone returning to their families. As I returned home, I was excited to see that mom had already prepared the tabel for the evening dinner. I took of my thick jacket and gloves and made sure to clean up any snow, that had made its way inside alongside me. Entering the kitchen I saw my mother cleaning up, she had already finished all her baking. "How was playing with your friends?" she asked taking a look at my face, smiling happily I answered "Great, did you finish baking everything?" She let out sigh "Yeah, finally finished. Time for you to open your presents. I know you were overly excited to open them." Nodding in aggrement, I rushed towards the tree opening my many presents as my mother watched smiling and happy. Afterwards was dinner, we always had turkey, which was delicous. Mom was truly gifted in the kitchen, wether it was baking or cooking she mastered it all. After enjoying my yummy dinner and helping mom clean up the table, I went to bed after wishing her goodnight. I felt full and sleepy. I jumped into my bed, embraced by the warm matress and blanket I soon fell asleep.
