Reilyn grunted as Llyma tugged a strip of the fabric of his top away from his neck. Her frown turned from curiosity to fury as she revealed the hickey Reilyn was trying to hide.
“Boms ku’clybae cartae?” |Who touched you?| She hissed down at him.
Reilyn gritted his teeth and glared up at her, refusing to answer. Llyma roughly tore her hand from Reilyn’s clothing and smacked him across the face. The sound echoed through the large bedchamber. She ripped her fingers through his hair, gripping it and pulling his face upwards.
“Ku keu’kertyn ku’dal-” |You belong to me you little-| She paused mid speech. “Quont Dyll’Anum.” |The Human.| She sneered.
“Dihi!” |No!| Reilyn shouted and struggled to get out of her grip.
Llyma’s hold tightened painfully. She yanked up, lifting Reilyn, then tossed him aside. He tumbled across the ornate rug strewn on Llyma’s bedchamber floor. “Kyptur brillel! Mwomi!” |Restrain him! Guards!| Llyma ordered. Two of her men rushed to Reilyn, grabbing his arms and pinning them behind his back before he had time to stand up. “Raere quont Dyll’Anum caic!” |Bring the Human here!| Llyma raised her arm and pointed towards the other two guards. They nodded obediently and left the room.
With calculated grace Llyma stepped slowly towards Reilyn. She crouched down, making herself eye level with him. Reilyn averted his eyes, keeping his face pointed towards the floor. Llyma cupped a hand under his chin, lifting his gaze to her. “Migo gwum quont mwydo gweicet kyut ku cartus anamqu pebei.” |I’m the only one allowed to touch you like that.| Llyma spoke slowly, the words leaving her lips like toxins from a spider’s fangs.
Reilyn refused to meet her eyes.
—
The two guards came back into the room, dragging a dishevelled and beaten Ignatus with them. Blood dripped from the dark haired man’s lips, and a bruise was forming around his right eye. His expression was defiant, and his fists were clenched. His face softened the moment he saw Reilyn, but hardened again as he glared at Llyma Li Chalos. The guards held Ignatus so he was positioned across from Reilyn, gripping his arms firmly behind him.
Llyma paced between the two captive men, pulling a dagger from the hilt on her waist. She waved the dagger around indecisively as she looked between her prisoners. She turned towards Reilyn, having made up her mind. The closer Llyma stepped towards the young Eyll, Ignatus began to struggle more and more against his captors.
She knelt once more down to Reilyn’s eye level. “Migo botem elopu mwaci kyut gecuit pebei dimquis re’ysporum don pobrat pamper ku carpio.” |I’ll just have to make it so nobody else could ever want you.| She sneered.
Llyma roughly grabbed Reilyn’s hair again, forcing his face up. She then lifted her dagger and traced the point around his features. His nose, his lips, his eyes, she stopped above his left eyebrow, digging the tip into his skin slightly.
“Pebo llegio mwod rufectus.” |This spot is perfect.| Her lips curled into a wicked smile.
Reilyn froze in fear, cold sweat dripping down his neck.
Llyma gouged the dagger down the left side of his face, through his eye. Reilyn screamed in agony, the vision from his left eye all but completely gone; blood and tears poured down his face and splashed onto the floor.
“Reilyn!” Ignatus called out. For a moment he pulled himself away from his captors, only for them to promptly grab him once more and painfully shove him back to his knees. Reilyn’s screams and sobs pushed Ignatus to keep struggling, ignoring the threat of his captors.
Whimpers escaped Reilyn’s attempt to hide them. Llyma rose to her feet, smiling down at the sobbing man. “Boms pobrat bexus’dal kymquis kyut ute criem anamqu pebei?” |Who could fuck someone with a face like that?| Llyma grinned as she spoke. Her lips formed into a frown as she turned to Ignatus, who was still fighting to get to Reilyn. She slowly walked towards the dark haired man.
“Couxilli ti’lle ku! Brillel ynalum don re faci!” |Please! Don’t hurt him!| Reilyn cried. His voice was shaky and broken from his screams.
He struggled to free his arms, his captors restraining him more aggressively with each attempt.
—
“Brille’wod mwydo ute Dyll’Anum.” |He’s just a Human.|
“Kyr faci ku’bo letrae mayn?” |Why do you care so much?|
“I’m…sorry…Rei-”
—
Reilyn screamed and struggled relentlessly. The two guards began losing their grip on him. Llyma dropped Ignatus’ body to her bedchamber floor, and the two men who previously restrained Ignatus ran over to help keep Reilyn still.
Despite all four of them pushing his body down, grabbing his arms and legs, Reilyn was able to free one arm. Only for a moment, but that was all he needed. “Kyortus! Couxilli keu!” |Rise! Help me!| He called to the corpse of Ignatus. The guards grabbed his arm, pulling it back. Reilyn was completely unable to move.
Llyma chuckled.
Ignatus’ body rose from the floor, his nearly decapitated head lobbing to the side.
The four men lost their hold on Reilyn as they, and Llyma, stared in utter disbelief at the undead man shambling towards them. Seizing his chance, Reilyn broke free, snagged a sword from one of the guard’s hilts, and called out to his undead friend, “Kyptur duillal!” |Grab her!|
Before Llyma could counter or respond, the undead had her arms pinned. His physical strength far outmatched hers, and with her arms bound, she was unable to cast magic. She gasped and tried to pull away.
One guard reached for Reilyn. Reilyn ducked fast, rolling on the floor and slicing the man’s ankles. The guard fell and called out in agony. Another aimed an air blade spell at Reilyn, and the third readied a slice from his sword towards the former captive. Reilyn rolled out of the way. The air blades that were aimed for him hit the Eyll with the sword instead, cutting him to pieces.
“Cawellus re kygnissis!” |Cage of flames!| Reilyn called out.
Towering walls of fire surrounded the group. The two guards still standing wearily looked around, the heat licking their skin. They were trapped. Reilyn threw his sword like a javelin at one, driving it into the Eylles skull. The man died instantly, crashing down amidst the flames. Reilyn turned to the remaining guard.
“Kygniss!” He raised his hand and cast a blast of fire magic at the lone guard, pressing him into the fiery barrier. The man screamed agonisingly for a few moments before passing out from the pain. Reilyn lowered his hand.
He walked over and retrieved the sword, a talwaar, that he buried into one of the guard’s heads. Shaking the blood off, he turned towards Llyma. He took a running start and charged towards her, sword ready. But he stopped once he reached her. The blade almost touched her chest, but he couldn’t bring himself to kill her.
Llyma looked down at Reilyn in shock and amusement. “Ku’clybeo kyven byita’caic cantum uet ku dihi’llotes don faci mao?” |You’ve come this far and you can’t do it?| She laughed. Reilyn looked away, his eyes down.
“Duillal emissum quontis glachiumis.” |Break her arms.| He ordered, his voice was quiet. The undead Ignatus snapped them as if they were sticks. Llyma howled as the sickening crack was lost in the flames. “Duillal’tai potta.” |Drop her.| The undead let go of Llyma’s shattered arms, she fell writhing to the floor.
Reilyn approached the corpse, gently placing his hand on the undead’s chest.
“T-thank you.” He still struggled with the words. A soft smile crossed his lips, his working eye began to water. Reilyn dropped the sword and reached both hands up, standing on his toes he unclipped the raven feather cloak from Ignatus’ shoulders and wrapped it around his own. He waved the enchantment away, and Ignatus, just a corpse once more, began to fall. Reilyn caught him, gently placing him down. Reilyn ran his fingers through Ignatus’ hair for the last time.
He rose, stifling another sob. Retrieved the talwaar, and a sheath from one of the dead guards. He fastened it around his waist and went to leave.
Llyma weakly called to him, “Ku dihi’botem don mwaci ku mwydo! Ku botem kyven emisus!” |You won’t make it on your own! You’ll be back!| She moved her body to face him.
Reilyn turned and looked down at her. Shaking his head he headed back towards the exit, running from the room, leaving it aflame and blood soaked.
With only the clothes on his back and the sword at his side, Reilyn left Tey’Umbra, and left Tey’Omus.
