Alayne looks for Olette before she leaves, but Olette is nowhere to be found, she looks all throughout the hut, until she sees throughout one of the window holes her tiny frame doing something out back. She walks outside to find Olette, who quickly hides whatever she had in her hands before turning to her.
"Alayne! I didn't think you'd be up this early…I was preparing some things for you before you go, do you mind giving me a second?"
"Nonsense Olette, let me help out, you've done so much for me and I wanted to thank you, here, what are we preparing, breakfast?" She leans over to touch Olettes shoulder.
"N-No!" Olette backs up further.
"Theres something I have to say. and I'm preparing a gift for you, or, well. I guess it's done, so here i go…"
Olette takes a deep breath, she focuses and states Alayne directly in the eyes.
"Alayne…you have been through a lot to get to where you are, I really think you are destined to do great things. Watching you this week has not only sparked the fire of motivation in my heart as well, but watching you my whole life has me proud to call you my friend. You…are embarrassed of your unique horns, aren't you? They looked more like antlers, but you told me you met with a dragon, did you pay attention to what it's horns looked like?"
"Thing was too big to get a good look at, if im being honest. But they certainly didn't look average."
"I…well, mother believes you are special, in a sort of way that can't be explained or understood by anyone, and I want you to remember that. I got you something."
Olette reveals what she was hiding, it's a heat rock, carefully carved into a beautiful intertwined ring, it almost looks like tree roots tangled together to form the base, and it has an incredibly faint glow.
"I say I got it but…I made it. Just don't tell anyone okay? Mother would be upset if she found out I was using my force to weave again. This is the hardest piece I've ever made, and I thought about you the whole time, so the jewelry should be bound to you. It should work to keep your ocean at bay should it go haywire like usual. I've actually been making this for a while. It's modeled after your horns."
"Olette it's beautiful, it might actually be uh, too beautiful for me. I'm not sure if I should accept."
"Alayne, I know you like cute stuff. You look good in it when you wear that kind of stuff too! You can still be all tough and rock punchy with others but please" Olette steps close to Alayne, slipping the ring onto her finger. And pulling her into an embrace.
"Just be yourself around me. You know I don't talk this much around anyone else, please just let yourself feel, around me."
Alayne looks down. Olette's soft silver hair pushing against her lower chest, she puts a hand through her soft shoulder length hair, gently stroking it. It's surprisingly nice to be. well, cared for to this extent. Even through all their years together Olette has never shown this extent of worry.
"I can't promise anything other than I'll try, Olette."
She parts the silver locks upward, revealing Olette's pale forehead. She gives her a quick, gentle kiss. Olette's arms bloom into their natural red hue, her horns appearing, as she hides her face in Alayne's chest.
"Oh, did you absorb some of the heat inside of the ring?" Asks Alayne.
"S-Something like that, yeah."
