The nervousness that Dakota had for the conversation with Lucas was a waste- because Lucas didn't actually talk to him. In fact, after Dakota walked back in his room, Lucas was in the bathroom. After a couple minutes, Lucas quickly popped his head out of the bathroom door and asked Dakota if he had a coat.
Dakota obliged and got Lucas the coat. However, when Lucas came out in basically nothing but Dakota's coat, Dakota was sure he was about to sign his own death certificate.
Before he could ask, Lucas assured Dakota that he had shorts on underneath the long-ish coat. Dakota then questioned silently why Lucas would wear a coat, but no long pants. He also questioned how Lucas received the shorts- which was something that Dakota didn't own.
However, before Dakota could ask, Lucas ducked out of the room.
Dakota sat on his bed patiently, wondering if their "conversation" was going to happen when Lucas came back. However, when Lucas came back- which was an hour later- his eyes were decorated with simple but beautiful makeup, no doubt Avil's work. The makeup was blue, which made his electric blue eyes pop, with eyeliner of gold, which accentuated the blond in his hair. He had heavy fake lashes on, which gave his eyes a seductive look.
Dakota was stunned at his beauty.
Lucas hurriedly walked to the bathroom, ruffling his hair in the mirror, and that's when Dakota decided to speak up.
"Um, what did you want to talk about?" Dakota asked. Lucas furrowed his perfectly shaped brows and then sighed.
"Look," Lucas said, without looking away from the mirror, "I'm gay. You're gay-"
"I'm not-" Dakota tried to protest, but Lucas interrupted him.
"Don't deny it," Lucas demanded, ruffling his hair some more. If he was trying to go for the sexy look, Dakota thought he had achieved it. "Hide it, but don't deny it," Lucas continued, "It's never going to go away, so you might as well accept it." Lucas paused his actions then looked at Dakota, "I'm not looking for a relationship, so don't get attached. You don't have to be nice to me either. And if you want sex, I'll only hook up with someone who pays, got it?"
The Lucas that was presented to Dakota was no longer the cute innocent cat that loved the feeling of blankets. It was as if Lucas was bearing a darker side or perhaps- a more defensive side- of him. Lucas was now a deadly tiger snarling, and, quite frankly, Dakota was extremely intimidated.
"I wasn't- " He stumbled, "I wouldn't- I'm not looking for a relationship either." Dakota finally got the words out. "And I just want to be nice-"
"So you want sex then?" Lucas sighed, then shook his head as if he was disappointed in humanity, "Well, then-"
"I'm a virgin," Dakota blurted out. He had never told anyone that because, technically, he wasn't a virgin. He just never had sex with someone he wanted to share it with. "Like a lame virgin," Dakota reassured, embarrassing himself to assure Lucas. Lucas blinked as if shocked by Dakota's bluntness, "Like one that wants to do it with someone they love."
Lucas blinked twice more, then sighed again- this time, with somewhat relief. He smiled to himself, seeming to revert back into his more docile self.
"Wow," he said in return, looking as if his mind was blown, "I can't believe I actually found a genuinely considerate guy for once. Other than Avil, of course. But I didn't sense anything alarmingly scary in him in the first place."
"You thought I was scary then?" Dakota questioned; he never saw fear in Lucas's eyes. He never saw any emotion in Lucas's eyes, really- other than the irritated anger that burned in them seconds ago.
"Kind-of, I mean," Lucas reached out and squeezed Dakota's bicep, then retracted his hand, "You are kind of muscly, but not buff- if you know what I mean. You're taller than Nick, and- though Nick could probably beat you up- you don't come off as...friendly... like he does."
"I'm not good at being happy," Dakota replied, deadpan. Lucas nodded in understanding, but smirked at Dakota's humourous dark tone, "But I'm not mean. Anymore." Lucas snorted, and then that snort turned into a laugh.
"I'm sorry I judged you so easily," Lucas apologized, smiling shyly now, "I'm used to people like you wanting... you know." Dakota nodded, then Lucas crept out of the bathroom. Dakota was still sort-of shocked at Lucas's abrupt brashness and sudden sweetness, but he was glad Lucas wasn't mad at him anymore. "I would have offered you come to the club with me, but now I know you're a virgin," he teased.
"Virgins go to clubs," Dakota defended, "I think. And you're going to a club?"
"Trust me, Koty," Lucas shook his head with a smile, putting his shoes on, "This is not the club for you." Then his smile died, and he swiftly looked at Dakota with narrowed eyes. "Or is it?" he wondered out loud, tilting his head like a curious puppy.
Then, he left, leaving that question to mull around in the silence of the room.
