Chapter 19

Chapter 19

Dec 19, 2022

He is kissing me. Oh my god! CALEB POST IS KISSING ME! I don't know what to do. I just stood there and gasped when he slipped one of his large hands under my shirt, pressing it against my lower back and pulling me in closer. He slipped his tongue in my mouth and cupped my face with his other hand. I broke out of my daze and wrapped my arms around his waist. I didn't want this to end, but Caleb broke the kiss pressing his forehead on mine.

"God, I've wanted to do that since the movie," Caleb said.

"W- wait w- what, "I sputtered.

"Yea, I'm sorry for jumping you like that. I should have answered your question about my feeling towards you," Caleb said, releasing me and taking a step back.

"Well, I don't think I would hate you kissing me as a response," I said, and Caleb laughed.

"Come on, let's get you something to eat," Caleb said, heading to his car. I touched my lip and ran up to him, matching his pace until we got to his truck. Caleb rushed to my side of the car and opened it, giving me a smile.

"You are a dork," I said, laughing as I climbed into the truck.

"That may be so, but you like this dork," Caleb said, closing the door. I watched him walk over to his side of the car until he stopped halfway, pulling his phone out and frowning at it before answering it. I watched his face lit up for a bit, and he turned to me and said something before giving me a wink and hanging up the phone. He opened the car door, climbed inside, and turned the truck on, leaning back.

"Is everything alright?" I asked, and Caleb turned to me.

"Yea, everything is fine. It's just," Caleb said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Just what?" I asked.

"I just want to kiss you again," Caleb said, leaning towards me.

"I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to it," I said, and Caleb kissed me. This time it was slow and sweet, like he was holding back. I went to deepen the kiss, and Caleb froze for a moment, grabbed my face, and started kissing me faster. I felt him lick the bottom of my lip, and I opened it, and he slipped his tongue inside, and I moaned in delight. I felt in total bliss until my stomach decided to make itself known.

"Well, that was embarrassing," I said.

"No, it is cute. Come on, let's go. They are waiting for us," Caleb said, pulling away.

"I'm sorry, who," I said.

"Tia and Mason. They are at the diner. Didn't I mention that?" Caleb said as he drove the car and headed to the main road.

"Uh, no sir, you were too busy kissing my face," I said, and Caleb laughed.

"Well, I'm sorry you have a kissable face," Caleb said, and I started to blush, sinking into the chair and pulling my legs up.

"Just drive, Post," I muttered, and Caleb started laughing even more.

"Of course, Copenhagen," Caleb said, and we fell into a comfortable silence.

I looked over at Caleb and smiled because the guy I had been pinning after actually liked me back. I think Caleb knew I was staring cause he slid his hand to mine, linking them together. His eyes were still on the road, but he had a smile on his face. Okay, it is official I could die today, and I will die a happy man.

Caleb pulled into the diner's parking lot and pulled into a spot putting the truck in park. I looked out the window, and Caleb cleared his throat as he turned the car off. I looked at him, and he had a slight frown.

"You okay?" I asked.

"No," Caleb leaned towards me, resting his head on my shoulder. "Is it bad that I don't want to go in there?" Caleb muttered.

"Well, that depends. What did you have in mind?" I asked, and Caleb lifted his head and kissed me.

"We would have never left the lake," Caleb said. I went to kiss him again, but my phone went off, and Caleb pulled away. I pulled my phone out and saw that Tia was calling me. I answered my phone, and Caleb sighed, leaning on my shoulder.

"Hey, Tia," I said, putting my phone on speaker.

"Where are you?" Tia asked.

"We are in the parking lot," I said.

"Well, when you are done making out, I am hungry," Tia said, and I coughed.

"Um, Tia, you are on the speaker," I said.

"Hi, Tia," Caleb said.

"Oh, um, well, hurry up, I'm hungry," Tia said and hung up, making Caleb laugh.

"We should go in," I said. I unbuckled my seatbelt, and I went to reach for the door, but Caleb stopped me.

"You know we didn't finish what we were doing," Caleb said, leaning in and about to kiss me again. I smiled, covering his mouth, and I felt him frown.

"We can finish this later. I am hungry," I said, and I kissed his forehead. Caleb pulled my hand from his mouth, leaned in, kissed me on the lips, and smiled.

"I can satisfy your hunger another way," I blinked at him, and his smile grew wider. "But I guess I will keep dreaming about it," Caleb said, leaning back to his side of the car.

"Wait, you dream about me? What do you dream about?" I asked and Caleb's smile reduced into a smirk.

"Sorry, can't tell you. Tia is waiting for us," Caleb said, leaving the truck.

"Wait a second," I rushed to get my door open and jumped out, running over to Caleb, that was heading inside the diner. Hey Post!" I called out, grabbing his arm.

"Yes, Steven," Caleb said, still smirking at me. I went to open my mouth, and I heard someone calling Caleb. We turned and saw Nicole running towards us, waving like a maniac.

"Stevie," Nicole said, jumping at me and trapping me in a tight hug.

"Uh h- hi Nicole," I manage to get out. Nicole pulled loses her grip and slowly pulled back, looking at my surprise.

"You remember my name," Nicole said.

"Well yeah, it is hard to forget you," I said, shifting slightly in her arms.

"Oh Stevie, that makes me so happy," Nicole said, pulling me into another rib-cracking hug. Man, this girl is strong.

"Okay, that is enough. You are hurting him," Caleb said, peeling Nicole off me. My lungs were thankful for Caleb stepping in when he did. I didn't know how long I would last.

"Oh, Steven, you remember Tony, my boyfriend?" Nicole asked. I looked up at him, standing behind Nicole, looking at me with a blank look on his face. Was he always here.

"Um yeah, hi," I said. Tony smiled and walked up to me, holding his hand out to me. He was a little too close, and I took a step back, avoiding his gaze. I grabbed his hand, shaking it slightly. I tried to pull away, but he tightened his grip, not breaking his smile.

"How is your phone?" He asked, finally releasing my hand.

"Um, i- it is fine," I said.

"Are you sure? Because it looked horrible when I saw it," Tony said. So I started to be very uncomfortable with how close he was.

"Well, it still works, so I think that is what matters," I said.

"Well, I hope you can still take me up on my offer and let me go get it fixed," Tony said.

"Well, you don't have to worry about that because he is already getting it fixed," Caleb said, stepping between us.

"Ah, nice to see you again, Caleb," Tony said.

"Well, I would say the same to you, but I would be lying," Caleb said.

"Caleb," Nicole said.

"It's fine, Nicole, it is fine," Tony looked past Caleb locking eyes with me. "Steven, let me get your number so you can tell me how much the screen cost," Tony said, and Caleb blocked his view of me again.

"You can text me because I will be paying for it," Caleb said.

"How nice of you to do that, but I feel bad for breaking his phone and wanted to make it up to him," Tony said.

"Well, you already apologize, then I don't think there is anything else to say. Come on, Steven, our friends, are waiting," Caleb said, wrapping an arm around my shoulders and leading me into the diner, leaving Nicole and Tony out in the cold.

We walked into the diner, and Caleb let go of my shoulders, and the anger on his face didn't fade away. I scanned the restaurant and spotted Tia's red braids in her signature messy bun. Her back was facing us, and she leaned on Mason, who kissed her on top of her head. Mason turned slightly, locked eyes with us, and raised his hand at us. Tia spun, looking at us too, and bit her bottom lip turning back around and sinking into the booth. I looked at Caleb, and he was already walking to the booth. I followed him, and he slipped into the booth, looking out the window. I slipped in and looked at the couples staring at us with confused faces.

"Uh, hey, guys, what's going on," Mason asked.

"Um, we ran into Nicole and her boyfriend outside," I said, and Tia perked up.

"Where is that piece of crap," Tia said, looking around.

"Hey, it is fine. Caleb handled it," I said, and I heard Caleb sigh.

"Where did you meet him?" Caleb said.

"Um, at Tia's gym, I was leaving, and I bumped into him literary, and I broke my phone," I said, and Caleb nodded, looking back out the window. The silence became uncomfortable until the waitress came and started taking our order. Caleb's phone started to go off, and he pulled it out, stared, and frowned.

"Um, I have to take this," Caleb said.

"Oh, okay," I said, sliding out of the booth and letting him out. I watch Caleb rush out of the restaurant with a serious look on his face.

"I hope everything is okay?" Mason said.

"Yea. Me too," I said. Caleb returned to the restaurant and scanned the area, walking past our table and stopping at Nicole's table. He leaned down and whispered in her ears, and she gasped and grabbed her things, rushing past our table. Caleb walked up to our table and leaned down to my ear.

"Hey, I have to go. I'll text you later," Caleb said.

"Uh, okay, is everything okay?" I asked, and Caleb gave me a smile.

"Yea, everything is fine," Caleb said.

"But-" I started, but I was soon interrupted by Nicole calling Caleb telling him he had to go.

"Sorry, I gotta go," Caleb said, leaving me alone with Tia and Mason.

I watched him walk out and felt a pang in my chest. I wish that I could help him.
