It was like a jolt of electricity coursed through Blair and her brain couldn’t process what was happening directly in front of her. She had just been kissed? By Olivia? Blair had thought she royally fucked the entire day up and here she was being enveloped by Olivia in the cold rain. Olivia. Kissed. Her. Her eyes blinked up at the woman she liked as they removed their lips from one another’s.
“Calmed down?” Olivia said with Blairs chin in her hand.
Blair nodded in agreement but still confused with the ongoing development.
“I was going to do this later, but now seems like a good time to.”
Olivia with outstretched hands took Blair’s in hers all the while maintaining firm eye contact. Blair was trying to keep up with what was happening, but everything seamed to happen like this was straight out of a dream. Something welled up inside her as Olivia looked at Blair in a way she never did before.
Olivia opened her mouth and what came out brought Blair to tears. “I love you, sunshine. Ever since I saw you that day, I couldn’t stop thinking about you.”
She paused for a breath then continued “I like spending time with you, and I’ve come to really love you.”
They both sat in silence staring at each other deeply waiting for one or the other to say something, but Olivia was taking the initiative this time.
“I want to go out with you. I want you to be mine. I love you, Blair Reeves. Unless you don’t feel the same……” She said kissing Blair’s hand while gently moving her hand to rub her cheek.
Blair thought for a moment. Love…. Someone actually loved an annoying, pain in the ass like her? This woman who seemed perfect in every way was actually interested in her and not just being her casual flirty self. Her prayers had been answered and all the emotion flowing inside her felt it like it could burst open at any moment. Blair Reeves, who thought she was unlovable and didn’t want to love finally had someone to give her heart to.
With a ferocity and an intense rush like a tidal wave she responded “O-O-Of course I love you to!” Those words she’d been hiding in her heart came bursting out into the open and she couldn’t help but cry. Olivia tried to comfort Blair in her show of raw emotion and was happy that the on she loved felt the same way.
“So, sunshine? Does that mean we’re officially going out?”
“Yeah, I want to be with you Liv.” Blair responded wrapping her arms around Olivia wanting to feel her warmth in this special moment.
What they both had seemed to forget was that they were still standing in the rain all this time. After there heartfelt moment they both looked at each other and laughed in unison as if that realization was the funniest joke they ever heard. Olivia put her jack over Blair’s head to get read to head back to the car. “Your knight in shining armor, milady.” she said with a wink.
“Oh, my hero.” Blair replied in a joking tone just before they raced to the car before they both ended up catching colds.
Once they were both in the car, they both couldn’t contain themselves and giggled at their newly expressed emotions like they were back in high school. They both curled their hands together and sat in the car as if time didn’t matter. One thing Blair didn’t expect though was now that they were official, she would soon find out Olivia is a very affectionate person. One such instance was now when Olivia leaned over to where Blair was and stole a kiss from her beloved.
“W-W-W-What??? Huh?” that was all Blair could get out of her flustered mouth as she fumbled over her words.
Olivia smiled wryly at the embarrassed Blair and how cute her new girlfriend is being. Olivia still couldn’t believe that this was real. She thought about how and when this would happen a million times over in her head, but now that this was reality it made her happier than ever.
“Don’t just do that so suddenly, jeez….”
“My bad, my bad” Olivia said as she chuckled to herself.
Blair was the happiest she’s ever been in her entire life, but something still weighed on her mind. An oncoming battle that they’d both would have to face very soon. Blair’s family. This had happened so suddenly she forgot that Olivia was still staying over for another night – not that she minded – but since their relationship had changes, she wondered of her parents would change their tune. Especially Alex. Alexa was so overprotective of Blair that if there was any type of threat, she would immediately try to fix it.
“Hey Liv? What are we going to do about my family.”
“Honestly, I don’t think we should worry sunshine. You should give them a little more credit and have some faith in them.” she said to Blair as she swept a piece of her hair out of her face.
It wasn’t like Blair didn’t have faith in her family, but this certain situation just made her nervous. She never had been in a relationship before this and didn’t know how they would react to the new development. So, with all those thoughts swirling in her mind they drove back to Blair’s house and were anxious at how the night would unfold.
Olivia and Blair were right outside the front door, frozen in place, hands tied together and waiting for one of them to have the courage to open the door. In a surprise turn of events, it was Blair who made the first move. Opening the door - albeit belatedly - and stepped into the house with Olivia in hand. It was like all her family were expecting the two to come back around this time. They all immediately focused their eyes on the pair of hands intertwined with each other.
“Told you” Alexa said with a massive grin on her face with an outstretched arm that wanted her money for winning the bet they made.
“Alright, you win Alexa…...” said the reluctant Mr. Reeve’s as he sighed in defeat.
The pair that just walked in the door was stunned into silence at the display that was happening right in front of them. Not only were they not surprised but it seems they even bet on the outcome.
Blair had fire brooding in her eyes and looked like she was about to explode.
“What is going on…...” she said with a low grumble. Everyone turned to her, but they soon noticed that she was very VERY angry. Her father audibly gulped, and her sister tried to escape the devolving situation. As always it was Mrs. Reeve’s who came to everyone’s rescue by going up to the two and congratulating them.
“Oh, I’m so happy for you two” she said as she clasped of both their hands.
Blair seeming much calmer than before and let out a sigh, she turned her head toward the others. Glaring at them then calming herself down again to officially introduce her girlfriend.
“So, Liv i- “
“CONGRATULATIONS!!!” They both yelled seeming excited at Blair finally having found someone she wanted to be with.
She had been cut off… her long awaited introduction had just been cut off… her seething rage started to burn bright again at her family’s continued rude behavior, but she felt a hand touch her shoulder that made her heart calm again.
“Its ok honey. At least they support us.” Olivia said smiling.
“Honey…” Blair whispered, she didn’t expect that, it made Blair’s brain stop working and completely forget what she was thinking about before.
While Blair was in a trance like state the commotion of her family welcoming Olivia into the family was still going on in the background. Alexa saying platitudes and minor threats to Olivia if she ever dared hurt her. Her father doing much of the same, but also saying he wanted to “talk” with her just the two of them sometime later. Blair finally snapped out of it when her mother came beside her.
“Oh, Blair I’m so happy that your happy” she gushed as she hugged Blair
“Thanks Mom and thanks for accepting Liv, I-I-I really like her.” Blair said to her mother with a bit of her faced flushed red at the sentence that just came out of her mouth. Her mother looked at Blair with loving eyes that told her she was truly happy for her. She guessed her mother could see how she changed recently and was all the merrier that Blair was finally looking forward again instead of backwards.
