This episode is dedicated to everyone that is that person (or knows that person) that randomly breaks into made-up songs describing the current ongoing mundane activities in a festive and exciting way!
Thanks for bringing joy to our lives.
Also, Happy New Year to everyone!
Ahh, the non-gay gay. That would be me. My lack of fashion sense and distaste for many gay stereotypical things (such as pop music) are legendary.
Many, many years ago (1985), when I was first discovering who I was and questioning it, I had a long talk with a friend's gay uncle, who explained to me that being gay does not mean that you have to act "gay". Some people revolve their whole lives around their sexuality and eat the stereotypes up, some are just people who happen gay. All are "normal".
I fall into the latter.
Also, this had better not be a racist thing. That store clerk had better not be asking for that credit card because Ashley is black. I will punch him in the neck...
It’s the start of his senior year and Alex is one of the most popular guys at school. Despite excelling in both academics and sports, Alex fears a big secret he’s been keeping could threaten to upend his social status and jeopardize all his friendships. Will Alex be able to stay calm and keep things "operating normally," or will he slip up and reveal the truth he’s been hiding?
Wear Your Heart Out tells a series of parallel storylines in a non-linear fashion and follows a diverse cast of characters going through their final years in high school. Each chapter is told from the perspectives of characters encountered in and around Alex’s life to highlight how we each experience the same circumstances in vastly different ways. At its core, this coming-of-age story is about hope, optimism, and love, but still must address some of the hardships faced by each character to give buoyancy to their perseverance. The story is about representation and features several LGBTQ+ characters and themes.
