"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
John 1:14
If you, like me, have embarked on this journey, there are two things you must do:
Get Your Own Bible
If you want, you can even download an online Bible app on your cell phone, regardless of the traditional or digital model, I advise you to choose a translation in nowadays language, for example, the NIV or GNT versions which are easier to understand.
It's not that Bibles with older translations are bad, but the words used are often more difficult and it becomes challenging to read them without constantly googleing the meanings. Not so interesting, right?
Search for a church
Well, any church that preaches that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he rose from the dead is a true and good church, however, don't create the expectation of finding the perfect church because we are all flawed. Our greatest example and whom we should follow is Jesus, not men.
There are several denominations, feel free to stick with the one that fits your style. Another crucial step in the life of every Christian is water baptism, it represents death to sin and new birth to life in Christ Jesus, your church will deepen you in this knowledge.
Be careful, don't stay in any place where they deny that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, you can be sure they don't teach the Word of God. If you are in one of these environments, please leave. It's the best you can do.
"If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them."
2 John 1:10
If you are going through problems in any area of your life, know that God wants and can help you! Just put him first in your life, how? Separating time to pray and study his Word. Watching preaching and reading Christian books is not bad, but we all need exclusive time with God.
Our purpose must be to get closer and to know Him more and more, sometimes we get too caught up in the blessings we want and end up losing sight of God and leaving Him aside.
We forget the privilege of having God in our lives and care more about what He can do for us than we value His Presence. It's not selfish, wrong, or bad to want God's blessings, but don't want it at the expense of your relationship with Him.
"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
Hebrews 11:6
Don't just seek blessings, first of all seek God and He will give you what you need and beyond. Precisely because He rewards those who love Him and seek Him intensely more and more. if you diligently seek for Him, the blessings that'll chase you.
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
Matthew 6:33
