“Come on, we'll miss the train if we don't hurry.”

I say as we dash through the dimly lit streets,

During a January snow flurry.

The stairs to the train platform was just up ahead,

“Watch out for the ice or you’ll slip and hit your head.”

We hustle up the stairs, and I swipe my card. “Remind me why are we taking the train again?,
don’t you have a car?”

You ask as we arrive on the platform out of breath.

“Yes I do have a car, but my answer may not be as clear to you. I miss the simpler times, as I'm sure we all do. I used to ride the train with my mom or my dad along with my brothers, though I'm not sure if you can relate along with any others.”

The train pulls into view and stops to open the doors,

To let some passengers off and others on board.

“Were headed to the amc in cicero right?”

You ask as we take our seats,

“Yeah, it's the theater I would go to as a kid. To enter when the sun was still dwindling in the sky, and to exit only for it to be the dead of night.”

I stare out the window and watch as quick blurs of light flash by,

It's quite dark outside but I don't mind.

“Now arriving in CICERO”

We step off the train and onto the platform,

Every breath outward made a little cloud form.

“Riding the train still has its old charm” I say with a sigh.

“Right… but it seems like you got a piece of gum stuck to your sleeve arm.”
