Kaeso woke
up in the empty class. Looking around, he picked up the cup of coffee and took
the last sip. Most of the time, someone would wake him up. Usually, a student
from another class was willing to take his seat before the beginning of the
next lesson. Of course, there were also situations when Kaeso woke up during
the classes he did not suppose to participate in. There was no way he would
recognize anyone around him. Therefore, the only way to determine if he was in
a suitable class was to look at the schedule and the teacher conducting it.
"You should not sleep during our lessons, Kaeso," suddenly, the teacher's voice resounded from the back of the classroom. Kaeso recognized her voice. Shivers started to go down his spine as she slowly took steps toward him.
"I am sorry, ma'am."
"Is there anything I can help you with?" she stopped in front of Kaeso. Kaeso stared at her for a moment, trying to spout an answer. He was no longer bothered by not being able to see the faces of almost all the people around him, but she was an exception. The lack of face, highlighted by the white sheets of paper held in her hands and pressed to the chest, made the teacher look even creepier than usual.
"No, I am fine," Kaeso stood up, packing his things.
"Do you have any problems at home?"
At this moment, smiling lips appeared on the teacher's face. Kaeso's heart skipped a beat. He hated when some features suddenly were given back to people he was talking to.
"I am just a bit tired. That's all."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"I am happy to hear that…," she sat on the chair in front of Kaeso.
"Can we talk for a moment about your drawings?"
"Sure," surprised Kaeso stopped packing for a moment.
"Did you hear about the art contest organized by the city's mayor? With your help, our school could win." At this very moment, the lips disappeared from the teacher's face.
"I am glad you like my work, ma'am…." Kaeso immediately closed his sketchbook.
"Yes, it is unique."
"...but, unfortunately, I am not interested in helping you." An emotionless smile appeared on his face.
In the doorway of the classroom, he heard his name once again.
"Kaeso."
"Yes, ma'am?" He froze motionlessly.
"We will get back to this conversation. Please give it a second thought."
Nodding his head, he left the class and closed the door.

Kaeso stopped in the middle of the school corridor, surrounded by other students, looking at the clock on the wall in front of him. "Four more hours," he thought.

Again, Kaeso was looking at the clock. This time, he was sitting in the classroom and counted the seconds until the end of the lesson.
“10… 9… 8… 7… 6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…”
The bell for the break rang. Kaeso jumped up from the seat. He was the first to run out of the class and leave the school.
Running as fast as he could through the streets of the city, he did not stop himself until he got to the enormous shopping mall named "Eagle Nebula."
