She felt bad, "I'm sorry." She apologized hugging him again. "It's alright if you can't talk. I don't mind." She held him and rocked softly from side to side. This defiantly explained why he chirped and trilled more than anything. "I'll figure out a nickname to call you." She said pulling him back and kissing his forehead. "At least until I can find out what your real name is." She added caressing his face. She wanted to come up with a good pet name for him. Something fitting.

"Beau." She spoke after a moment, the omega looked at her questioningly. She patted his chest, "Beau." She repeated, "Beau." She did it a third time for good measure. She then patted her chest, "Logan." Then his, "Beau." It was a rough arrangement but it was all she could think of at the moment.

The omega stared and grabbed her hand as she pulled away and forced her to pat his chest. "Beau." She repeated, "Bbb." He managed to make a 'b' sound. She smiled and nodded. He grinned and patted her chest. "Prrupt!" He chirped, he seemed to understand that she was telling him what she'd call him. So he was letting her know what he called her. "Prrupt?" Logan repeated and he let out a shriek of happiness. They hugged and Logan sighed feeling a bit better now that she had something to call him.

Eventually, the omega got off of her and restarted the fire as night came. Logan got up and leaned against the wall. "Beau." She called getting his attention. She pointed to herself and then to the mouth of the cave. She wanted to let him know where she was going. She then pointed back to herself and then to the nest. She was trying to tell him that she'd be back and wasn't leaving. Beau, as she had started calling him tilted his head confused. Logan grabbed her walkie-talkie and started heading toward the mouth of the cave. Beau followed after her. "Prrupt." He said grabbing her hand.

"Beau." She replied making him smile. Slowly she walked to the rock she had sat down at earlier and turned on her walkie-talkie. The static was loud and Beau hissed covering his ears. She winced and turned down the volume, "Sorry Beau!" She apologized, he relaxed and sat beside her carefully glaring at the screaming box in her hand.

She then heard her grandfather's voice. "Logan! Logan?" "I'm here gramps," Logan spoke into the radio. "Logan where are you?" He asked, she sighed, "I'm... Uh still at the cave. The omega came back... He didn't reject me. He went to get food." Logan explained.

"Logan." Another voice chimed in over the radio. It was her grandmother's voice, "What color of hair did you say the omega had?" Logan raised her eyebrows, "Hey Granny." She greeted, "It's uh..." Logan glanced at Beau beside her who was interested in the voices coming from the box. "It's copper." She said. Her grandparents were silent for a moment before her grandmother spoke up, "I believe he's a part of the Eastern tribe then." She said, "Is he there with you?" She asked.

"Yeah, he's sitting next to me." Logan said, "I speak some of his languages so I could talk to him." Her grandmother offered. "That'll be a problem." Logan said after a moment, "Why?" Both of her grandparents chimed in. "Beau can't talk." Logan said, "he only chirps and trills." She explained.

"That explains why his cave is so high..." Her grandmother remarked, "What?" Logan asked wondering what that had to do with anything. "The higher and further a den or nest is away from the village the more of an outcast they are. If he can't talk then it's likely he's an outcast." She explained. Logan turned to Beau who smiled at her, "That'd explain why he went out looking for an alpha too!" Her grandfather spoke in the background, "Yes I thought you were an outcast being in heat in the open." Her grandmother replied. "Juniper!" She heard her grandfather exclaim.

"Well, I have no problem with his inability to talk. Doesn't really bother me that much to be honest." Logan said firmly, "That's good to hear." Her grandmother sounded pleased, "Even still if he can't talk I could translate some things for you, is there something you'd like to say to him?"

Logan paused and glanced over at Beau, "A lot actually." She replied, "But for now, explain to him that I wasn't trying to reject him earlier. I just thought with him being gone he was rejecting me and I didn't want to bother him." Logan instructed her grandmother who took a breath. "I'll try." She said before speaking in a foreign tongue.

Beau perked up hearing his language being spoken by the box in Logan's hands. He watched intently and then glanced up at Logan. "Prrupt!" He chirped grabbing her arm, he pulled on it and looked distressed. He then patted on her mark before trying to kiss her. Logan leaned down and allowed him to do so.

As she pulled away she heard her grandmother on the other end, "I thought you said he couldn't talk?" She asked, "I mean I don't know what his language really sounds like. Other than what I heard from you." Logan replied, "Well he's at least able to say one word." Her grandmother Juniper replied, "What's that?" Logan asked. "Beloved." Juniper replied, "That's what he calls you." Logan looked over to Beau feeling her cheeks burn hearing that.

"Wow." She mumbled she hadn't realized. "C... Can you tell him I like my name and that his name is short for Beautiful?" She asked feeling a little silly asking her grandmother to do this but she had no other way. Her grandmother chuckled and translated. Logan watched Beau's face turn red and he covered his face with his hands turning away.

"How did he react?" Her grandmother asked, "he seems happy." Logan said chuckling, "his face is red." She added after a moment. Her grandmother laughed, "So are you able to make it to the cabin?" She asked, "Uhhh. No." Logan said with a sigh, "My ankle is really swollen and that looks like a two-day hike from here." Logan explained. Juniper clicked her tongue over the radio and sighed, "Alright, we'll come to get you." She said, "Juniper! We're too old for a hike like that!" She heard her grandfather protest, "You're old! I'll carry you." Juniper snapped.

Logan chuckled hearing her grandparents argue, "You guys be careful getting here okay?" She said, "We'll be fine!" Juniper insisted, "You stay where you are." She added, "yes mam." Logan said with a laugh. After that Logan shut off the walkie and looked to Beau who glanced at her with red cheeks. He looked really happy. Logan thought about what her grandparents mentioned about him being an outcast. How ridiculous just because he couldn't talk.

"Beau..." She said softly, he perked up and smiled at her with a love-sick smile. She smiled back and reached over touching his face. She felt his cheeks burn under her touch. She wondered what he had been told if being called beautiful made him this happy. She leaned close and softly kissed him on the lips. Beau sighed happily when they parted. Logan then stood up with Beau's assistance. She heard some movement and turned to see a young man standing there. He had copper hair just like Beau, his skin was a slightly lighter tone. He stared at Logan before looking at Beau.

Logan looked over at Beau to see his reaction. He took a step behind Logan and looked uncomfortable. Logan shifted so she was blocking the young alpha's view of Beau. He didn't seem to like that and growled. Logan scoffed, "Okay buddy." She said rolling her eyes, he growled louder taking steps towards Logan. Logan felt Beau tug on her arm. "It's okay Beau." She said softly before looking at the young alpha. He was a foot away from her growling and Logan laughed. "That's cute!" She said amused. With a grin on her face, she said, "I can do it too. Wanna see?" She asked before turning her face to a much more serious one.

This little punk reminded her of the creepy guys who bothered her friends in the bar. They even went so far as to growl which was very cringey. So to speak their language Logan became a bit of an expert of out growling creeps. Her growl started out low as she closed the gap between her and the young alpha before it turned into more of a roar. The little alpha's eyes went wide and he fell back on his butt.

The sound of Logan's growl echoed over the valley a couple of times. "Fuck off." Logan spat glaring at him. The little alpha scrambled to his feet and ran. It was then Logan noticed a bit of a pathway. "Huh." She said thoughtfully before turning around to see Beau standing there.

"I didn't scare you did I?" She asked smiling at him, Beau had a smile on his face and he started crying. "Beau?" She asked concerned as she walked over towards him. She leaned down and wiped the tears from his face. "Hey... Hey... I'm sorry I scared you buddy." She said softly, with some difficulty she lifted Beau up into her arms.

It hurt because of her ankle but she managed it as she carried him into the cave. She sat him down onto the nest and he clung to her neck crying. She managed to climb in and he crawled into her arms. She softly rubbed his back up and down as he laid on top of her.

She was beginning to think this wasn't about her scaring him and more about that little alpha. What did that little bastard do to Beau to upset him this much? Logan decided then and there that she was definitely not going to let Beau continue to live in this environment.

She didn't know what was going on here but this kind of reaction didn't mean anything good. Logan and Beau fell asleep like that. Logan woke up throughout the night to check on Beau and to make sure that little bastard didn't come back. She even went as far as to keep the gun beside the nest.

The next morning Logan woke up before Beau, he had exhausted himself from crying so hard yesterday. So she decided to do something nice for him. Getting her brush out of her bag and some hair ties. She softly began brushing his hair as he slept. She decided to braid it, well she braided it before she realized she was doing it.

His hair was so soft it was too tempting not to. Tying the braid off she admired her handy work pleased. Beau woke up just as she finished and she grinned at him as he sat up. "Morning." She greeted sitting crossed-legged next to him. Beau smiled at her leaning towards her until the braid shifted in front of him causing him to pause. He felt at his head and then looked at Logan who smiled widely. "Do you like it, Beau?" She asked, she was hoping he got her inflection. She tried to make her eagerness for approval obvious.

"Prrupt?" He asked pointing to his hair, 'Did you do this?' Was clearly the message, Logan nodded. Beau shifted looking like he was considering something, his ears became red and he bit his lip. He looked up at Logan and nodded. "You like it?" She said excitedly. She even clapped. Beau smiled at her before getting up and running to the back of the cave.

In the corner, there was a pile of things in different containers. Beau dug around before pulling out a pair of necklaces. He rushed over and handed one to Logan breathless. Logan grinned, she hadn't expected to get a gift. She smiled at him, she went to reach for it, but Beau swatted her hand lightly before climbing into the nest and putting the necklace on for her. "Oh!" She said understanding now. She grabbed the other one and put it on Beau, he seemed pleased.

He seemed extremely pleased in fact... He had a teary smile on his face as he played with the crystal pendant on his necklace. He looked up and smiled at her brightly. Logan smiled back at him and pressed her forehead against his affectionately. Whatever made him so happy didn't matter, long as he was happy.

Most of the day after that was peaceful. Beau mimed to Logan that he was going to go down to get more food. Logan smiled and nodded promising him she'd be here when he got back. Beau took a basket and headed down the hill leaving Logan in the cave. Logan looked around and decided to clean up a bit and make some food for when Beau got back.

For the last couple of days, they had been eating whatever fruits were in the cave. But Logan had a cooking set and some supplies still. She decided to take some of the vegetables he had there and create a stew. There was a pot just outside of the cave filled with rainwater, Beau had gathered some over the past few days and they both drank it. She grabbed one of her small buckets to collect some and dunked it into the large pot. Her necklace hung around her neck as she bent over.

She heard some movement nearby and paused slowly turning around. A small child stood some ways away staring at her, this was the second one of Beau's people to show up. The kid had shoulder-length red hair and slightly tanned skin with freckles.

The kid wore a dress made out of pelts. The kid looked kind of scared as if they had been caught doing something they shouldn't have. Logan stared at the small child before turning back to what she was doing. She didn't know the culture of how to address children. So she decided it was best to ignore them.

The child yelled something at her that Logan couldn't understand. But they sure seemed mad at her. Where were this kid's parents at?
