"Never return here!" The woman shouted as they walked off. "Don't want to! Your village sucks!" Logan replied as she walked away.
Roe and Beau were quiet, "Are they okay?" Logan asked her grandmother who spoke to them. Beau perked up and smiled, Roe then spoke as they walked. Juniper listened, the little girl had a lot to say. She then stopped her and turned to Logan and translated. "Roe says that they're scared going away from the village. Especially now that they can't return. They're afraid that things will get worse." Logan nodded in understanding and then stopped facing both Roe and Beau.
"Granny I'm so sorry having you translate all of this." She said apologetically. Juniper chuckled, "How about you tell me what you want to say and I'll tell you how to say it." She said walking over close to her grandchild.
"I want to tell them that I'll take care of them and they don't need to worry. I'm so happy to have them in my life and I love them both." Logan told her grandmother who smiled and nodded. She leaned over and began whispering in Logan's ear what to say. Logan nodded and repeated a few things which her grandmother then corrected.
She then took a deep breath and spoke, "Beau. Roe. You're going to be safe with me. We're a family. I will take care of you. I love you both." Beau and Roe stood there stunned, Beau clutched his necklace with a smile and Roe burst into tears. "Mama!" She cried jumping into Logan's arms. "Did... Did I do it right?" Logan asked her grandmother who laughed. "Yes." She said smacking Logan on the back amused. Logan smiled brightly and hugged Roe tightly as she sobbed.
After Roe calmed down, Logan ended up carrying the small child on her shoulders. The little girl seemed thrilled as she chattered away to Beau who walked close to Logan with a soft smile. That night they made camp. Roe played with Juniper and Oakley who seemed more than thrilled to have a grandchild around. Oakley was working on teaching Roe how to speak with Juniper.
It seems that Oakley knew some words but he spoke more Western than Eastern. Logan finished setting up the tent for her, Beau, and Roe. "What do you think?" She asked turning to Beau who had been standing close by.
He had hovered around her for most of the night. Just smiling, though, now that Roe was distracted the smile was a little different. He gently grabbed her wrist and led her away from the camp. "Beau?" She asked a bit confused. Her grandparents looked up and Logan waved at them and then pointed with Beau. Juniper chuckled and Oakley's eyes widened before turning back to Roe distracting her.
Beau led her further away from the camp before they came across a pelt on the ground near a river. It looked like Beau had set it up when Logan was busy. "Prrupt." He chirped grabbing her collar he made Logan sit down on the pelt and then climbed into her lap purring. "What are you-?" Logan went to ask just as Beau tilted her head and bit down on the mark on her neck. "O-oh." She felt her face heat up, she moaned slightly. "Beau..." Logan pulled him away from her neck, she knew why Beau did what he did now.
She didn't want him to think that being with him like this was the reason why she took them with her. "We don't have-." Logan started to say before Beau kissed her on the lips. It was a brief kiss, "Lo..." Beau struggled to squeeze even that out, "Lo... Lo..." He repeated again and again looking like he was getting upset, was he... Was he trying to say her name? He was mouthing out the words but the sound didn't come out. Tears of frustration filled his eyes, "Lo..." He looked up at her only looking more upset when the name didn't come out right again.
However, Logan on the other hand was thrilled. "Beau!" She exclaimed hugging him, Beau melted into the hug with a sigh. "That must have been really hard for you!" She said pulling away, she kissed his cheeks happily. Beau's eyes softened and he played with the necklace around Logan's neck.
"That was really special thank you." She said pleased. Beau side-eyed her, he looked happy and seemed to understand her tone. "But Beau we don't have to do anything like this." She said softly, she tucked some hair behind his ear. She was fine with just kisses and hugs from now on. She didn't want Beau to feel like he had to use his body.
Even though his body was amazing. Logan felt her cheeks heat up at that thought. She shook her head to get a hold of herself. The last time was because of their heats and ruts. Logan didn't feel too good about forcing this sort of relationship on Beau.
There was a bit of a power imbalance now. Especially with having taken him away from his people. It was different before, that was just nature. Logan thought of the horrified look Beau had on his face when that bastard showed up. She never wanted him to look so scared of her.
Beau stared at her looking increasingly exasperated, "Lo." He settled on just calling her by what he could say, his tone sounded frustrated and annoyed. "Yeah?" Logan asked perking up. Beau rolled his eyes and then pushed her down. He was still sitting on her lap so now he was straddling her waist as Logan's legs extended from being pushed down. "Beau?" Logan asked nervously, Beau pouted and clicked his tongue. If he could talk it looked like Logan would get an earful from the omega. "Prrupt." He chirped sounding disappointed, he untied the thin rope around his waist before removing the shirt that Logan had given him.
Logan who had been spending most of her time in her tank tops made a mental note to give Beau a different t-shirt. As that one had gotten dirty as well. Beau carefully sat the shirt down on the pelt and cocked an eyebrow at Logan. Logan wasn't a complete idiot. She knew exactly what that look meant, 'Do you understand now?' She laughed nervously and sighed. It was fine right? Beau was calling the shots.
"Lo." Beau spoke getting impatient, he leaned down and pressed up against her, he smiled flirtatiously at her and batted his eyes much like he did the first time they met. "Lo..." he purred out her name, Logan winced and let out a whine, "Ha..." She whined, "Beau you're killing me." She whimpered before grinning.
"Alright. Alright. If you're okay." She said nodding she reached up and caressed his face. Beau grinned back at her and caressed her face. The two of them kissed each other softly. Logan helped Beau with undressing her, he didn't seem to like the idea of her doing it herself very much. Once their clothes were sat aside, Beau climbed back onto Logan's waist and purred. Logan breathed feeling a tingle in her cheeks.
Beau slid his hands along her body and leaned down resting on top of her. The two of them kissed. It was different than their usual pecks or soft kisses. It was deep and hungry. Logan felt her heart skip a few beats. It had been a while... A while since she had done this without her partner being in heat or her being in a rut.
But that just meant that Beau actually wanted her. Beau and she parted from the kiss. "Beautiful." Logan breathed grabbing his face in her hands and holding it. Beau let out a soft happy noise. His cheeks were rosy and there was a gorgeous smile on his face. The reasons why Logan and he ended up like this mattered little to her. She had spent her whole life feeling like she didn't truly belong anywhere.
Even with her grandparents. It was why she ended up going into the city. It was why she ended up back out here. She was looking for a place that she belonged. Beau and Roe... They made her feel like she belonged.
Words bubbled in the back of her throat as Beau and she moved together. She thought back to what her grandmother had told her to say. Carefully she constructed it to the best of her memory and she spoke, "I love you Beau." She was sure her accent was terrible and it didn't sound as good as when her grandmother had said it. Beau, however, seemed thrilled. "Lo..." he whimpered cupping her face and peppering it with kisses.
When that point was reached, they both lay there panting and staring into each other's eyes. Logan pulled Beau close and brushed the hair from his face. He giggled softly at the feather-like touches on his skin. Logan smiled at him and the two of them rested their foreheads together. Enjoying this moment alone among the sound of cicadas and the stream.
When they were able to separate they helped each other clean up before returning to camp. Beau's hair was re-braided but a bit messy. Roe was fast asleep curled up in Oakley's arms. It seemed the little girl got quickly attached to the gentle old omega man. Juniper who sat by the fire glanced over and chuckled softly.
"Have fun?" She asked seeing the pelt in Beau's arms. Logan and Beau's faces turned red. Logan laughed nervously, "Not something I want to talk to my grandma about." She mumbled, "Alright then." Juniper chuckled, Beau made his way over to the tent that Logan had set up and crawled through the open flap. He shuffled around inside arranging things as he liked them.
Logan knowing better than to get in the way of a nesting omega based on her experience with her grandparents. Made her way over next to her grandmother and sat down. "Logan." Juniper said staring at the fire, "Just because Beau reached out to you for survival doesn't mean he doesn't care." The older alpha spoke lowly and softly, Logan hadn't really noticed it until now.
But her grandmother's voice was slightly accented. She always spoke slowly and carefully as if to hide it. But she was comfortable among her family and didn't hide it so much. "It's hard for an omega to leave. It's not like with alphas or betas. Omegas stand less of a chance on the outside. He must have seen you and saw you as a way out. A way for something better for little Roe and him."
"But... The way he looks at you... You can tell he's fallen for you. Not just because you're his ticket out. But because you're you, Logan." Juniper explained, "You've always been very kind. A protector. I know some have taken advantage of that. But don't let them ruin this." Juniper smacked a firm hand onto Logan's shoulder and squeezed. "Little Roe thinks there's nothing like you." Juniper remarked, "I'm sure he thinks the same."
As Logan considered this, Beau came out from the tent and glanced over smiling at the two alphas before making his way over to Roe. He chirped softly and Roe stirred. "Papa?" She mumbled reaching for him Beau plucked her out of Oakley's arms and looked at Logan. "Prrupt." He called before motioning to the tent. "Ah... It's bedtime." Logan said chuckling. Juniper grinned. She stood up and walked over to the sleeping form of Oakley.
"Wake up old man." She said picking him up. "Jun? Jun! Put me down!" Oakley squirmed and went to shout but was silenced by a kiss from the alpha. "There are children present!" Oakley complained. "Let's go where there isn't." Logan heard her grandmother say in a teasing voice. She laughed and shook her head before heading to her tent.
It was a tight squeeze because it was only made for two people. But Logan crawled in onto the other side of Roe who was spread out in the middle like a starfish. She looked content and happy. Logan leaned over and zipped the tent up before laying down. Beau eyed her from the other side of the tent and the vinyl fabric vibrated from his purring.
The tent was filled with the smell of flowers making Logan sleepy. "Not fair..." Logan said with a smile. Beau had seemed to figure out that his scent always seemed to relax her. The three of them drifted off to sleep together in the small tent.
The next morning it was early and Logan's eyes snapped open. There was movement outside of the tent. She reached over and touched Beau, who slowly woke up and then noticed Logan's alarmed look. Logan reached for the gun that she had in the corner of the tent and loaded it. She held her finger up to her lips for Beau and then slowly unzipped the tent.
