Today, Oakley was teaching Roe about some chemistry. Logan wasn't too sure about but the little girl did have a bad habit of mixing up some strange things with plants from the area. One tincture she made bubbled and glowed in the dark. Logan had no idea how she managed it. But, it helped with stomach aches and heat pains. Oakley was thrilled to have a great-granddaughter like that and went around exclaiming that his granddaughter was a genius.
Beau and Logan took this chance to walk around outside. Logan had recently had her cast removed so she had an easier time getting around. "Beau I was thinking of putting our home here. But I want you to choose." Her voice was heavily accented in his language, but Logan was just happy to be able to speak to him. Beau looked at the sectioned-out area and thought carefully, he then began to sign.
He had started to learn from Logan sign language which Logan knew due to minoring in during college. He cried when he was able to communicate with her for the first time. Naturally, the first thing he signed to her was 'I love you.' Which only made Logan cry. Like Roe Beau was a quick learner and easily picked up signing.
"This is good, but shouldn't it be closer to the grandparents?" Beau signed, he always called Juniper and Oakley the grandparents. Apparently, it was a title from Eastern tribe culture. Calling them 'the grandparents' was the closest translation. "You want it closer?" Logan asked, Beau, nodded, "Roe loves her grandfather. It does not feel good separating them." Beau signed, "Okay. Where would you like it?" She asked pulling out a stake and handing it to Beau. Beau took the wood stake and began walking back towards her grandparents' cabin. About fifty feet away he stabbed it into the ground.
"Here." He signed, "I want the entrance to face that way." He pointed towards the hill that had a distant view of his cave on top. "I want to remember where I came from." He explained, "It won't bother you?" Logan asked concerned, Beau had learned about mental health and trauma during his support sessions. So he ended up going to therapy for some of the things he experienced.
From what Logan learned, it was a lot. The last thing she'd want to do is have a constant reminder of what he experienced in front of him.
Beau shook his head, "I don't want to forget. If I forget I feel like he wins." He signed, Logan sighed and nodded. "Okay, but if you change your mind just tell me. I want you to be happy." She said walking over and resting a hand on his shoulder. Beau nodded looking pleased. "So when are we getting married?" Beau then signed jokingly at her, Logan laughed.
"Technically aren't we already married?" Logan joked, Beau gave her a fake pout and signed, "I gave you a child and this is how you treat me. Put a ring on me already." Logan cackled, Beau laughed pleased she liked his joke. "I am happy I can talk to you now." He signed, "I had so many things to say." He added. "Like how much I hate how short your hair is." He signed Logan snorted. "You just want to braid it." She replied, "Yes! How else will anyone know we're together! You won't put a ring on me!" He complained.
"You make me sound terrible." Logan remarked, "You are the worst, awful, and bad." Beau signed with a silly grin. "Yeah, I don't think I am," Logan said getting down on one knee in front of Beau. She pulled a small box from her pocket. Beau had watched so many times on television staring at the black boxes. Logan was sure to get one.
Beau's silly grin faded and his eyes widened. "Beau." She said softly, she switched languages knowing that Beau would know exactly what she was saying. "Will you marry me?" She asked putting the ring onto his finger.
She had hunted down the very same ring that Beau had seen on Sunset Lovers that he adored. It had been sold out for a while but she managed to find it in his size online. Beau had loved the scene with Monty and Harry so much he had played it on repeat on the DVR for days after he first saw it.
He would always touch his hand where his ring finger was. It killed Logan not being able to give him the ring right then and there. But the ring was so popular that she couldn't find it for months. It was hard tracking it down but it was cruel not to get him the very same ring. Especially when he loved it so much.
Beau stared at his hand shaking and fell to the ground on his knees. He tried to sign but his hands shook too much. Logan chuckled as she watched happy tears flow out of his eyes. He jumped into her arms tackling her to the ground. Logan grinned as he peppered kisses on her face. She knew that Beau had been joking earlier.
But, she also knew that not being connected to her in every sense bothered Beau greatly. Especially after seeing some members of the support group with rings on their hands. Beau grabbed her face and kissed her on the lips hard and for a very long time. Breathlessly he pulled away and managed to sign out, 'Yes! Absolutely! Yes!' Logan grinned ear to ear, before pulling him down into another kiss.
