I watched him for nearly two whole hours. In those two hours, I had at least five good opportunities of shooting him dead in between the eyes. But I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t pull the trigger. My heart is beating abnormally fast. This has never happened to me before. They weren’t joking when they said he was attractive. It disgusts me that my body reacts to him. His bright golden eyes are the most captivating thing I’ve ever seen and whenever he moved, his curly hair would move further down his forehead and his golden crown with black jewels and flowers sat lopsided on his perfect head. It was almost ridiculous how attractive he looked.
Faltering to kill him did give me some information though. I’ve discovered he doesn’t have a good relationship with his parents. The only thing that remains the same between supernatural creatures and humans is how they express their emotions. I could tell on their faces that the prince and his parents were having an argument while everyone was distracted with the ball. And now, he’s disappeared to god knows where and I can’t search for him in fear of getting found out. It took me a while to discover such a good spot overlooking the thrones in the ballroom ; I was lucky I didn’t walk past any royals. It would be unprofessional of me to chase a target in this situation. I just have to wait for him to return. He probably went to cool down a bit after that heated argument.
When he comes back, I’ll watch him carefully. I’ll pull the trigger at the perfect moment. I won’t falter. He’s my target. If he ever sees me, he won’t think twice before he kills me with one of his many abilities. So why am I second guessing myself?
