6:45 PM

When I get to the club, I enter through the employee-only door and all I see is chaos. The staff lounge is destroyed and there are bruised, bloody, and unconscious, people everywhere, I look around for someone, and I see the bartender.

“What the hell happened around here?” The bartender named Henry was on the floor with a big gash on his head and seems like he has a concussion,

“I have no fucking clue, where were you?”

“My shift starts at 7, I came early today, where was Ted?”

“Fuck Ted, he let in some gangsters or something in here and tried to rob us, they might still be here. Kel, please check if Lady Tanya is ok, I think she’s in trouble.”

“I’ll find Lady Tanya in a moment, but right now I need to make sure that you get your forehead fixed, put pressure on it, I'm going to grab a first aid kit, you stay right here.” Henry nodded, I went back to the staff lounge and found the first aid kit I saw, I brought it over to where Henry was, but as soon as I got where he was, he was getting kicked by 3 masked men.

“Where’s the fucking money?” Henry was in a ball protecting his stomach from the guy’s kicks. When I saw what they were doing I ran over and gave a hefty punch to one of the attackers. As soon as I landed that punch the other two attackers began to punch back, one of them landed a punch to the gut, and the other tried to go for my face, but I bent down and kicked the attacker's knees. They both curled up. When I saw that I did a damaging blow. Then I got Henry outside. 

“Are you okay?”

“Kel, I should be asking you that.”

“No, you shouldn’t you got kicked multiple times because of me.”

“It’s not your fault” I take out the bandages and some antiseptic, 

“This is going to hurt,” I rub an alcohol wipe over the gash on his head, and he winces in pain. 

“Sorry, I’m going to put a bandage on your head and then look for Lady Tanya. Get out of here, find a phone, and send the police over please.” He nodded. I put his bandage on and rush back inside, I start frantically looking everywhere, but I couldn’t find Lady Tanya. I rush up the emergency exit to the roof, but the door was locked from the outside, In a panic, I shove my shoulder into the door and it moves, a lot, so I do it again, this time I feel a rush of pain going down my shoulder to my wrist, but I was so close, so I do it again, and this time the door breaks, I see Lady Tanya tied up in a chair with duck tape on her mouth

“Lady Tanya!” I run over, but while I'm running two masked men jump at me, I punch one in the gut, hard. The other has a knife, he swings and cuts the already injured arm, I step back, holding my arm. The masked man sneered, I’d recognized that sneer anywhere, It’s my goddamn brother. 

7:30 PM

“Bryan?” as soon as he heard me speak he dropped the knife and backed away from me.

“Kel?” I start laughing

“Haha, holy shit, it’s you.” My brother freezes, I probably look terrifying, I'm bloody and bruised, and laughing. 

“K-Kel”

“Yes?”

“I’m sorry,” I kick him in the gut and smack his head hard enough to knock him out. I rush over to Lady Tanya and take off the duck tape

“Lady Tanya, where is Ted?”

“He fled when he found out the money is in a safe, he didn’t want to bother, but his minions stayed.”

“Are you okay, Lady Tanya?”

“Yes I’m fine, but what about you? You look pretty rough.” I sigh. When I cut the rope tying up Lady Tanya, I stood up but I nearly fell, I hurt my foot somehow. Lady Tanya grabbed me and let me use her to help me walk. 

8:00 PM

When I hear sirens and see Henry walking over, I know everything is going to be alright, Lady Tanya helps me sit down. When I sat down I reached for my arm and started putting pressure on it, but the bleeding wasn’t slowing. I’m losing consciousness. I pull out my phone, and text Leo, 

“Love you, babe.”

“Kel, what’s wrong, did something happen?”

“Maybe, I love you so so much”

“You aren’t dying, right?” 

“Not yet, haha”

“Not, haha, I’m going to the club and if you aren’t there I will start tearing down mountains until I find you.”

“If I'm not there ask Lady Tanya, she will tell you where I am.” I feel my eyes getting droopy and the blood from my arm continues to flow. 

“Don’t you dare pull this shit on me, I swear to god Kel.”

11:00 PM

I wake up to the sound of a heartbeat monitor and people chatting  when I open my eyes I’m greeted with a bright light when I sit up, I see two blurry figures and rub my eyes but I can’t move one of my arms, 

“Kel! Holy shit your up! You can't scare me like that! What the hell?”

“Huh?”

“God you are so fucking stupid” I hear Leo move around, I reach with the arm I can use and reach out for him, I hear a chair move and a sigh

“I’m here, Kel” He grabbed my hand, and kissed it. 

“What happened?” I feel Leo squeeze my hand. 

“Not sure exactly, but you have a broken shoulder bone, you broke your ankle, and you needed 20 stitches for your arm… Care to explain?”

“I don't remember,” I hear a door open and someone walking in, when I opened my eyes I recognized the person in a second, it was Lady Tanya.

“Thank the lord you are alright. You had me worried”

“Sorry, Lady Tanya.”
“Don’t apologize, it was my fault in the first place for trusting an ass like Ted, I take full responsibility for what happened, I’m giving you 6 weeks of paid vacation, please use that time to heal.” She leaves before I could say anything. I hear the door open again and it's the doctor this time, he politely asks Leo if he could leave for a moment. When the door shuts again the doctor tilts up the bed and places many pillows behind me. 

“Alright, Kelliger, I am going to say this once, so make sure you are listening.”

“Ok.” The doctor sighs

“Well, you are in perfect shape when it comes to health, and since we found you a blood donor, you are alive, but, your shoulder. It has sustained enough damage to the point where it shattered, if not treated, then you may never be able to use your arm again.” The room is silent.

“We have a couple of options for you, but honestly, I don’t think your arm will be the same.” 

“What are my options?”

“We can try to let it heal over time with a cast if you don’t want surgery, I don’t recommend it. We can try to pin your bones back together with nails, which I also don’t recommend, or, we can just give you a plastic shoulder, which might take some time though, but it’s your best choice.” 

“Can I get some time to think and talk it over with my family?”

“Yes you can, we called your mom a few minutes ago, but I believe she is already here,”

“Thank you”

September 2, 1:00 AM

When I told Ma and Leo what my choices are, Leo said that he will do anything to help me be able to use my arm, and Ma said I should choose what was best for me. An hour passed by and Ma left saying that when I  get discharged come to the cafe and say hi to Cleo. Now it’s just me and Leo.

“How did you get here?”

“I drove to the club. Lady Tanya told me that you were in the hospital so I offered her a ride there she hopped in and we drove to the hospital. I told the lady at the reception desk that I was a very close friend, I think she got the hint and let me in”

“You drove?” 

“Yea how else could I have gotten here?”

“Weren’t you planning on drinking?”
“I decided not to because my boyfriend's intuition told me something might not be right.”

“Prove it.” He bent down and kissed me using his tongue, his hand in my hair. He pulled back and Licked his lips. Frozen. Cheeks flushed. Hand on my lips. Heart racing. I just sit there for a moment, then I sit up, and cover my eyes. I’m dying. 

“Any alcohol?”

“N-no” I hear Leo laughing, I whip my head around and glare at him. He’s never done that before.
“You have a great boyfriend intuition, huh.”
“Yea, I need a good one if I’m dating you.”
“I bet, I’m a mess” Leo laughs.

“I love you, Kel”

“I love you too.” I think I’ll be in shock for a bit. A few minutes pass, a nurse walks in, and Leo seems to know her,

“Nurse Libby! Nice to see you!” Libby walks in and shuts the door behind her.

“Lovely to see you, Leo, who’s that?”  

“Kel.” She grabs the clipboard on the front of my bed,

“Hm, so your Kelliger Bloom”

“Yes”

“Leo?”

“Yes ma’am?”

“Want me to get you some stuff to sleep in here?”

“Please” Nurse Libby walked out

“She’s a person of few words”

“Yeah, she seems nice, how do you know her?”

“When Mom was sick I saw her all the time”

“Huh. I'm surprised she remembers you.”

“I’m a pretty unforgettable person, so no surprises there.” 

“More like an unforgettable pain in the ass as a kid” Nurse Libby walks back in with some pillows and blankets.

“You can sleep on the couch.”

“Thank you.” 

“Leo, come outside the room”

“Why?”

“Just come.”

“Okay” Leo stands up and Nurse Libby holds the door open for him and then shuts it behind her. Now it’s just me and my thoughts. What the hell was my brother doing? What kind of shit has he done? Is father alright? I wonder if he’s been in financial ruin since mom left. Did I hit him hard enough so that he was there when the police came? About 20 minutes pass and I’m starting to wonder what the hell Leo and the nurse were doing. The door opened but instead of Leo, it was a police officer.

“Kelliger Rowan Bloom, we have to ask you a couple of questions tomorrow, but right now, who is Bryan Kinp Bloom?”

“My half-brother”

“Ok, right now he is blaming you for everything that happened today, why is that?”

“My mom got full custody of me before I turned 18, after that she ran from home with me and left my dad and my brother in financial ruin, Bryan is petty and enjoys seeing people struggle, I would even call him a sadist, I had just found out that he is doing shady stuff, and I haven’t done much illegal stuff.”

“Mr.Bloom, he is blaming you solely because you ‘made’ him do all of the crimes, since your name came out of his mouth, I have to make you a suspect, I’m on your side, so please cooperate when you go to the office, that’s all.”

“Alright. Have you seen an older nurse with a boy with black hair?”

“No sorry, kid, are you looking for your friend?”

“Sure”

“Okie Dokie, I’ll be on my way. Good night.”

“Night.”
