I’D LIKE TO IMAGINE
I'd like to imagine the world past my time.
I'd like to imagine a child hundreds of years in the future, under a towering tree.
Imagine how he'd feel, looking at the sky through the green leaves.
Imagine how grateful he'd be for the shade and crisp air.
I'd like to imagine he'd sit there, with his family, or perhaps alone.
He'd sit there, drinking clean water, eating fresh food provided by the Earth.
He'd smile as the warm Sun rays hit his face; the whole world would smile.
I'd like to imagine they'd all stare at the trees and breathe in unrestricted.
No more fighting, no more hatred.
They'd hug the tree for it's sacrifice, not knowing who planted it.
They'd run around, roll in the grass.
They'd all wonder where the giant patches of forest came from, or how the water was so blue.
The whole world would stare at the animals walking on the roads, and simply coexist.
I'd like to imagine it is possible.
I wouldn't want the future to even think of the past, they'd just think of how it feels to be alive.
They'd understand the heaven beneath their feet.
They'd just exist with each other.
The Earth would thank them, I can see it now.
Imagine how the flowers would smell; the luscious gardens.
I can imagine the world all sitting, saying nothing.
Nothing would need to be said; they'd just love each other.
I'd like to imagine that.
I do imagine that.
It's what we all can strive for,
We can all strive for the day the world can breathe.
