I managed to shake off the weird dream with a good dose of cleaning. Cupboards were emptied. Furniture moved and polished. Giant pile of clothing washed. Even my Gran would have been proud of the job I accomplished by the time the sun was once more setting.
It was the pile of clothing that had me a little confused. When I had taken off my nightgown from yesterday it had been covered in fine little hairs. The only thing I had in the whole place that could have left hairs like that was an old fur lined blanket I kept stored away. Had I got it out sleepwalking style in the night? Maybe that had given me the dream.
It did not matter. Instead I warmed up some leftover soup and curled up with a good book on Ancient Rune based Mythology. I would read until bedtime as a reward for a busy day.

"What the hell!" I said waking once again to a giant furry wall vibrating softly next to me. I poked them hard. Where there had been no effect before this time there was a shift as they rolled over with me still pinned precariously between their chest and paws. I could feel tears forming in my eyes as I pictured being smothered to death before everything settled back to soft snores once more.
"You are a pretty sucky recurring dream buddy." I grumbled this more quietly. Maybe it had been dangerous trying to wake a strange giant wolf. I guess I could try sleeping again. It had worked last time after all.
Poppy's life is simple. She works as a Librarian at an Arcane University, lives alone in a small flat and sometimes goes out drinking with her friends.
There is absolutely nothing special about her.
So why every night for the past month has she woken in the middle of the night in a giant wolf's embrace? Is it just a weird dream? Or is something else going on?
