Dragon's Earth: the true tale of the past and the beginning.

Silver mistake

Silver mistake

Feb 01, 2023

Everyone around me cheered and hugged each other more as they soon began to eat the food that was placed before them on the makeshift siting area, it was nice to be their size and to be able to talk and convers with them at a voice level that wouldn’t damage their ears. Tarluk and Sarvek went to find other children near and far to tell them about my change. It was refreshing to have a new look to my planet.

The food I was served was the most exquisite looking meal I’ve ever seen, it was beautiful to look upon, like works of art. There’s was glazed meats cut to bite sized portions, some sweet smelling yellow squares with holes in some of them, there was green leaves with red fruits and some vegetables tossed up in a bowl, it looked so crisp and clean, there was sour smelling liquids in small bowls that had an extension I saw some of the creatures grab it and pour it on the bowls of the green leaves .

My mouth watered as I looked at the spread around me not knowing how to eat it nor what I should eat first. I watched the elfs and wood druids only eat the plants, fruits and vegetables  none touched the meats as for the humans they ate both plants and meat.

“ aren’t you going to eat ? I made this plate for you.” Drogan spoke with a grin but had a puzzled look in his bright purple eyes. The others looked over to me as he did this.

The king blushed softly as he had a nervous look to his face as did many of the others

“ I’m a star eater I’ve never had what you call food… this is all new to me but do not fret I welcome this new experience with an open mind.” I beamed as they all looked relieved and the king sent some knights to get more food from the palace.

Taking the plate from Drogan I picked up the meat with my finger and sniffed it carefully, it smelled so fragrant, it had a light smokey scent to it with a floral aftertone, and a hint of sweet smelling fruit that had an acidic scent.

“ That’s honey glazed braschock that had been smoke aged for a near full day! Chef I think said it was about twenty to twenty-four hours then had been glazed washed with honey, thyme, salt, lemons, and oranges .” King Atlas said with pride towards his palace Chef.

I put the meat into my mouth as it’s juices rolled onto my hands. I very much savored the flavor of the meat itself with its glaze before it melted in my mouth then I licked my hand clean of its juices.

“ very delicious!” I puured softly as I sniffed at the leaves and vegetables before shoving them into my mouth with my hands, then made a face as the liquid on them tasted sour and unpleasant, Drogan laughed softly as I shook my head from the taste.

“ here drink this its much sweeter!” He giggled as he handed me a strange object that held a milky substance.

I took it and drank it slowly pleasantly surprised to find that it tasted sweet from its strange appearance.

“ what is this ?” I asked him as I drained the entire contents of the object.

“ it’s pear juice!” He smiled as he drank the same liquid he had handed to me

“ yet I’ve hear that pear wine tastes way better I’m not old enough to have it yet but you are maybe they’ll have some out for dinner tonight “ he smiled toothy as he picked up his food with a spiked silver stick, I was still wet behind the ear when it came to creations made by humans, I never paid much attention to their work of art, but now that I’m human sized Ihad all the time to learn.

I looked down next to my plate seeing the same silver sticks one long shaped with ridges another spiked shaped and one that was a flat bowl shape.

“ those are silverware, this one is a fork!” he pointed to the spiked one.

“This one is a spoon.” he pointed to the bowl shaped one.

“And this is a knife!” he pointed to the long one with the ridges.

“ The dwarfs made them aren’t they cool they made eating more noble like even commoners have them, but theirs are wooden. Silver is expensive as the dwarfs own most of the ore mines,” he shrugged softly before continuing to eat his food.

The silver looked mightily appetizing to me as I stared at it, before anyone could register what I was doing I picked up the spoon and shoved the whole thing into my mouth, the silver once in complete contact with my insides melted instantly some dribbled from my lips as I swallow the liquid it became. They all looked in shock at what I did.

“ Goddess are you ok ?”

“ No tell her to spit it out “

“ her stomach someone get a doctor!”

“ Whoa it melted!!!”

I blinked with a confuse and startled look as I’d thought I did something wrong, I gave a slightly worried stare at them all thinking I did something terrible.

“ I thought it was food you all were putting them into your mouths I thought you where eating them as well….was I not supposed to eat it all at once?” I asked worried as knights ran all over to find a doctor in the nearby homes. The queen rushed over to me with complete worry in her eyes as she took a tender hold of my face, her hands warm and she smelled sweet and floral like.

“ My dear open your mouth, try to spit it out we don’t know what that might do to you, silver isn’t food for us!” She sounded genuinely concerned about my health which made me feel regretful in what I did

“ I’m sorry I didn’t know it wasn’t supposed to be eaten like that, I’m still new to this human thing..” I said guiltily looking very ashamed of my actions.

“ I didn’t mean to cause a fuss I’m alright truly I still have a dragon stomach my starforge melts everything that comes in contact with my mouth once I fully close it.” I spoke sheepishly as Queen Starla looked inside my mouth still riddled with worry. I felt like I was back home with mother god still the baby dragon that I was all those many millennia ago. I nuzzled into her hands as she smiled at me lovingly, I could see a lot of mother god in her.

Drogan not sure if to laugh or be just as concerned stood there watching us with an awkward smile across his face before taking a cloth and dabbing it on the melted silver next to my lips.

A doctor was found and brought to me he took a sound to what he thought was my heart beat then looked into my mouth his beard hairs curled at the heat coming from my insides, which very much startled him.

“ Oh my, my lady I can’t understand what you are !” He spoke with all honesty no one told him I am the dragon goddess. So it made sense for his reaction

“ That’s Bone she’s human now she drank a shape-shifting spell!” drogan said proudly while the doctor looked at me wide eyed before taking my hand softly

“ She is perfectly fine I was wondering why it was so difficult to find a steady heartbeat and that sound when she breaths was like a hearth.” He chuckled softly

“ Her body isn’t completely human as I’m seeing, she still has remnants of her former self attached to her, but do be wary of what you eat my goddess. I don’t think I’ve seen any of your children eat silver unless there’s are other types of dragons that eat ore, that just live deep in the mountains of the Dwarven kingdoms.

I nodded softly smiling warmly as I thought about my children of metalstone, these kinds of dragons ate metal and rocks, they also where made of metal and rocks but underneath their outer armor was meaty insides that worked hard at crushing and melting the foods they ate.

“I have many children of different types, some are made of fire, water, dirt, and air. Some are made from the things in the dirt such as ore, crystal, rocks, swamp, and even wood. My children come in all shapes and sizes but none will be as big as I am, well as I use to look.” I smiled softly

After getting a complete checkup from the doctor, every finally finished the meal and started to pack up. I looked at them, smiling softly.

“ thank you all for your help, I’m truly grateful to all of you helping me to achieve this smaller human like form. But I feel like it’s time for me to go now, I’m not needed here anymore as what I wanted to happen with my child and you all did happen, you creatures are all bonding I can now go to the sister planet and start fixing it up with creatures similar to you all. “ I explained telling them about my goals to make more planets just like this one with creatures all just like them.

Gods. What is a god to you? Someone with power to mold and create? Someone with powers to heal? To destroy? To love? Yes that is what you might think a god is.
I'm a god, a dragon goddess to be precise. My name, well it's Bone. I set out on a journey to find a home, a planet made by myself, molded with my own powers. Even with the help of other gods this home of mine would belong to my children and their kin.
As a gift to me for creating a beautiful and wonderful home, my mother, a goddess above all gods, blessed me with a gift. A seed of different intelligent creatures.
Yet a specific species called humans truly intrigued me. They taught me things about their cultures. They welcomed me into their home. They gave me love and happy memories. They took from me, asking and begging for me to give them whatever they desired. I did, I thought that's what you'd do to something you loved.
No!
It's not. That wasn't love. It was a mistake. An accursed mistake that cost me everything I held dear to me. My home, my children, even my own body. All taken from me. I will make them pay for what they did. What they became. War will wage and in the end…
I Will Be Victorious.
I Will Be What Remains.
I WILL BURN THEM ALL!

Please enjoy my novel, feedback is always welcomed. This is a slow burn to romance novel. The chapters will express the growing friendships of two friends and a family. Writing is not easy for me so editing will take place for all chapters that have been posted and chapters yet to be posted.
