It was half-past twelve; lunch time. The scene during this lunch break hour was a scene of a mirth and merriment. Students bursted into great rejoicing after roughly about four hours confinement inside the classrooms.
At the academy’s cafeteria—
The aroma was reaching the nose before the food reaches the mouth and as if it could be tasted.
Kizuki was placing his order at the counter, located at the left section of the cafeteria.
“Um—, I want a ribeye steak with baked potato, steamed vegetables, and garlic bread topped with herbed butter sauce. I’ll have a mushroom soup with that. And—um—a premium carrot juice for drink.”
“That would be 38800.50 Dragonheart.”
Well… that’s a grand academy for you. Kizuki thought as he needed to pay for such expensive set of dishes.
Kizuki reached for his card, passed his card to the cashier.
This magic academy more likely reached the standard comparable to a grand estate. The cafeteria was located on the ground floor, west-side of the main building. The food provided is exquisite and of course… not to mention, expensive.
In this cafeteria, one would go to the counter and place their order, and then pay the cashier to complete the order by using the Dragonheart Mark, then sit anywhere as they pleased, once the food was prepared.
Dragonheart Mark, a card that was linked with the individual bank account for payment method on any purchasing made.
The food served here are quite appealing compared to my academy back then. Oh, wait, sure it is. Said Kizuki to himself internally in jest. Most likely, regarding his pricey order he paid for.
“Ah, I haven’t been in the academy’s cafeteria in a long time~”
In the cafeteria, each of the long rectangular tables was covered by a white sheet of tablecloth, arranged with a row of seats, and decorated by assorted set of flowers. Though the cafeteria was rather large, the number of students rushing in after their morning lectures made the place feels cramped.
Students could be seen taking picture of their dishes, some skidding through their smartphones rather than having their served foods and drinks, and others enjoying their servings whilst chit-chatting.
“Kids these days are developing well… What the heck do they eat to grow like that? …Though one of them was underdeveloped. Well…”
Observing the surrounding, Kizuki muttered these unpleasant words, which if heard, might have cost him a fight with the girls.
After a short while, the food arrived. He then retrieved the trays that contained what he ordered.
“Now then, are there any empty seats…”
The cafeteria was packed with students, and almost none of the seats were left unoccupied. However, there was a table with two empty seats at the far-right side of Kizuki, near the window.
Though Kizuki did not know who those seats were saved for or it is just unoccupied, he hastily walked towards those precious empty seats.
And then he noticed—
