Not So Secret Crush

Chapter 7 I just Want My Lunch

Chapter 7 I just Want My Lunch

Feb 04, 2023

Hello beautiful humans. Here's a new chapter hope you enjoy it.

----------------------------------------------------------

Levi’s P.O.V

Previously on Not-So-Secret-Crush…

The bus finally arrives, and we get on it. It is practically empty today, thank god. Jace sits next to Amari, flirting as usual, and I sit on my own as I take out my earphones and put my music back on. I look out the window, admiring the views. When I feel a hand tabbing my shoulder. I take one of the earphones out and look up.

“Hi, Can I sit next to you?” He says with a smile, and my eyes shoot out of their place while my heart drums against my chest.

“K-Kayden,” I said with shock evident in my voice.

“Y-yes, um, yes, of course,” I removed my bag from the seat next to me as he sat down. I looked around the bus to see it was almost full—no wonder he asked to sit here. Calm down, Levi. You are not that special.

“Thank you, Levi,” He sat down, giving me a mischievous smile.

I felt our shoulders touch the hour arms as we sat close in the small seat that claims to be for two people, but it’s made for one and a half… not the main point. His warm touch sent shivers coursing through my veins. It reminded me of the dream. My heart clenched at the memory of his arms wrapped around me. How his hot breath tickled my skin…

“Levi?” Kayden spoke, pulling me out of my dangerous thoughts. “Looks like I lost you there for a second.”

“Y-yeah, sorry,” I spoke nervously. Okay, Levi, deep breaths. You can do this. You are a strong man who can handle Kayden sitting next to you. It is not a big deal; he is just a normal person. He may look like a Greek god, but it’s okay.

“How are you this morning? Did you sleep well?” He asked.

I slept okay. How about you?” I answered, sneaking a peek to look at him. Only to find him already looking at me with a huge smirk that rivals the joker. I lift my eyebrow questionably…

“What?" I smiled back at him.

"Oh, nothing, just… I had fun last night, you know." His smile gets wider, if that's even possible.

My blush at the moment would rival a strawberry, and I would win.

"I-, um. Hmmm. I-" I stuttered my way into the grave. I sighed, giving up on even getting a sentence out. I am ready, cruel world. Take me.

His laugh roars throughout the bus, making everyone's heads turn towards us, and I sink into my seat, attempting to hide and hopefully just disappear.

"I'm sorry for teasing you. It's just so much fun. Well, for me, at least. But seriously, I had lots of fun, thank you." He looks at me with a genuine smile. While I stared at him with a glare, he said I just looked like an angry bunny at that moment. I can't win with this man.

After a few minutes of me struggling to calm down and him laughing at me. I was able to hold a proper conversation with him. We just sat there talking about everything and anything along the way to school.

As time and houses passed by, I was so into my conversation with him that I didn't comprehend anything else but him, his features, and the way his eyes turned into crescent moons when he smiled. The way he brushes his hair back when he talks about something that embarrassed him. And finally, he leans into me when he tries to tease me. I loved everything I saw. Everything about him amazed me; I was smiling like an idiot the whole time.

"So, are you ready for after school today? I got all the paperwork we need, and I just don't know the specifications of everything exactly. Maybe we should go to the teacher and ask for more information…." I rambled on and on as I tried to plan everything out.

"Calm down, Levi. We're not planning a presentational campaign. It's a multicultural day. It just needs to be fun and organised. We'll be fine. The teacher gave us everything we needed and trusted us to plan the whole thing. We'll meet today to make a rough sketch of everything. Then we speak to department heads. Let's take it easy, okay?" He said in a calming voice.

"Right, ahahah, sorry, I just got really into it. I don't want to disappoint Mr Lee." I said as I played with my fingers.

"I know I feel the same, but we can't stress ourselves out with it too much. Otherwise, we won't do a good job." Kayden said with a soft voice. Honestly, it melted my heart, my ears and all my worries away.

"Yeah, you're right. Thank you, Kayden." I smiled at him.

"You're welcome young one." We both laughed at his silly reply.

"But how come you spoke so confidently about school work, but you are always nervous with me? Hm? Do I make you nervous, Levi?" His evil smirk was back, and my heart started its special dance it does every time around him.

"WHAT!? Um, no- pfft, of course not. That's just because… oh, look, we're here, hahaha, school time. Would you look at that timing?" I scramble, trying to change the subject before I say anything stupid. Or worse, faint from all the blood rushing to my cheeks.

He laughed again, leaning against me with his toned arms touching my sides. I feel them flex and… damn it, Levi focus.

"Okay, I'll let you go this time, but I'm getting my answer next time. Just you wait." He continued to laugh as we exited the bus.

"I'll see you after school. Wait for me by the main office. And say hi to Jace for me." He winks at me before turning around and walking away.

I feel Jace sneaking up behind me before he wraps his arms around my shoulder.

"What just happened?" He asked.

"I was asking the same question myself. Let's get going, shall we." I replied, and we walked to school while Jace tried to get me to tell him what had happened. I gave Amari the look, and he immediately understood, distracting Jace and giving him his favourite candy that he had stashed in his pocket for emergencies. He's so good for him. I love them.

(Lunchtime).

"School just doesn't want to end today." I sigh as I sit at the table with my usual gang. Alex and Leo are already there, stuffing their faces with food.

"I knf. Ish rideislius." Leo tried to talk with his cheeks stuffed like a chipmunk.

"Seriously, dude. I didn't understand a word you said. Finish your damn food, then talk." I replied as he went back to eating as if nothing had happened.

"Hey Lex, how's it going?" I asked. He took a while to reply as he finished the food in his mouth. Like a proper human, I glared at Leo in the meantime.

"I'm doing good, Le. I'm just very sleepy, and it's no joke." He states in a sad, tired tone making me feel bad for him.

"Don't feel bad, Le. This idiot just stayed up all night gaming." Leo interfered after finishing his food, thank god.

Alex glares at him, throwing a scrunched-up tissue at him.

"Shut it, Leo. I was about to get a hug from Levi. Damn it, you idiot." Alex said to Leo before stealing his pudding. Oh no…

"Alex, you son of a bitch give it back here. That's my favourite flavour, you slob."

"I'm the slob? So says the one who can't even speak properly because his face was stuffed with food. I have manners, unlike you." Alex replied.

They stare at each other in a deadlock. Then Alex got up to run away, Leo followed behind him…

There it is. The typical Alex and Leo interaction. Honestly, they are so weird. One moment, they are together peacefully and the best of friends. The next, they are two enemies at war. I sighed as Jace came to sit next to me, looking at Leo chasing Alex.

"Again?" Jace asked.

"Again." I started taking my lunch out to eat.

"Oh, you brought your lunch today too? Wow, that looks amazing. I'm so jealous." Jace stared at my food like it was a long-lost treasure.

"Don't you dare come near my food, you garbage disposal. It's mine. Get your own damn food." I said as I hugged my lunch, protecting it from evil eyes.

"Che, so cheap." He said as he made his way to buy his food.

"Okay, now I can eat in peace." I bring my fork filled with deliciousness closer to my mouth, awaiting the explosion of flavours…

"Leviiiiiii, tell that idiot to give me my pudding back." Leo comes running back to me. I sigh as I put my fork down. Guess no peaceful lunch for me today. I sighed as I looked at Leo.

"Leo, sweetie, honey, darling. You know what to do. You're supposed to be the mature one in this friend group. If I lose you to their idiocy, I'd have nothing left. Please, Leo, please." I begged him wholeheartedly, and I saw the wheels turning in his head as he turned to Alex, who's standing a few meters away in a safe zone.

"Alex, if you don't give me my pudding back… I will break one of your toy cars." Leo took a confident stance. At the same time, Alex's face turned into that of horror.

"You wouldn't dare." He gasped.

"Try me." Leo followed.

They stared at each other again for a few seconds…

"Fine, here's your pudding back," Alex said as he handed the pudding back to a happy, victorious Leo.

Yes, it worked. Okay, now back to my lunch. I bring the same fork back to my mouth. It itches closer and closer…

"Levi, are you seeing this?" Jace interrupted me, and I had it with these idiots.

"What? What is it now? Can't a man eat in peace?" I looked at Jace, fuming. But he looks at me with emphatic eyes and then looks behind me. I turn to see what's happening, and my heart drops to the floor, breaking into a million pieces.

There was Kayden walking into the cafeteria with his arm wrapped around a girl's tiny waist. My heart clenched in a pain I'd never felt before.

"Oh…" was the only thing that came out of my mouth.

I kept staring at them as they walked and sat at their table. I see Amari greet them…

"Jace, get your ass over there and drag Amari here now." I turn to Jace, and he runs to Amari quickly.

A few minutes later, Jace comes back without Amari.

"I thought I told you to bring him?" I asked.

"He has something to do, but he said not to worry. It's nothing. He's just being overly friendly with her." Jace said as he sat back down next to me.

"Are you sure?" I pushed a bit more.

"Yes, 100%." He smiled.

Okay, okay, good. There is nothing to freak out about. It's all going to be okay. I can trust my friends. Okay now back to food. I am starving. I retake a hold of my fork…

"Levi."

THAT'S IT! I AM KILLING THEM ALL.
