Chapter 10 Being a Teacher/ The party is formed
We arrived at the guild base in no time flat and got Zera to register as a member of the Titan guild as soon as we could. Although I was still confused why Cel wanted to teach the girl but somehow his extreme method of teaching her wind magic worked she even awakened to the song through her species wings. I think her original species was a god duck which are some real weird beasts but they're pretty easy to tame. But I guess it’s good for Cel to have another friend finally but I just wish they weren’t so annoying.
Once Zera was registered we had her take the test for being a higher rank or it would have been a very slow and annoying process to get further in rank. I mean me and Zack started at C rank and it still took us around a month to barely reach A rank, not even AA or AAAAAA+ but that doesn’t matter too much. Well let’s see what this ⅕ god duck can do let’s hope she doesn’t end up a sitting one. I walked over to the sitting area for viewing the testing while Zera walked towards the tester who was a Z rank, the highest rank someone could reach. As her teacher I considered having her fall out of the sky again to see if she could use wind magic again as well as activate her wings but I’d rather not get choked out again so eh. Let’s see how far Zera can get even if she can’t activate wind magic at will. She seemed to be a ranged attacker but she could definitely fight up close if she tried.
Water girl began to look through all the weapons provided by the guild for testing and she then saw a water gun. After picking up 3 weapons she headed towards the field where the Z rank fighter stood with no weapon. “Begin whenever you feel like it… Zera water and wind mage”
“I also use some illusion magic”
“Oh interesting alright noted we’ll add that on later”
With that the battle began with Zera firing a barrage of water bullets and because of her great control of the element she increased the pressure of it making it fire even further and stronger. A normal water gun would never go 100 miles an hour so it packed a punch but the tester weaved through all of the bullets towards Zera and prepared an axe kick to take her out. Luckily Zera had prepared for this so she pulled out a rapier and went for turning the tester into cotton candy on a stick suddenly though only an image of him was left behind. Now behind the water mage he went for an elbow jab which sent her flying but with her basic knowledge of her new found element she used the speed to take flight. Now in the air she had a true advantage when it came to range with her weapon she then pulled out her 3rd and final weapon, a second water gun. Instead of going for a quick barrage of bolts she unleashed a powerful “WATER LAZER” slowly guiding the tester to a corner pushing him to a point of no escape. The tester though didn’t seem to be in the mood for dealing with what she had planned next so he slammed the floor and grabbed a piece of it using it as a temporary shield. He threw towards before sprinting to a wall and jumping off it towards her going in for a tackle. But Zera isn’t going down without a fight so she combines her 2 elements to make a barrier that most wouldn’t be able to handle. This instructor though had other ideas and for the first time in the fight he used elemental magic for an instant but it ended the battle.
“Damn it only A- rank”
“Oh well you still did good against an Z rank you made him use an element”
“Yeah for a millisecond”
“Oh well let’s go get Zack and grab a quest so you can learn how to fight some more”
“Alright let’s go”
The two walk over to Zack who’s talking to the pale man from the capital and they seem deep into a conversation. “Hey Zack, what are you guys talking about?”
“Oh it’s you oooo divine one me and your friend were just talking about what being a vampire is like”
“Oh I see anyways Zack you ready for another quest”
“Yep I even got an idea for a quest we can do with vampire here you wanna properly introduce yourself Al”
“Of course I’ll introduce myself, my name's Alucard, cousin of vampire lord Popiri just avoid touching me if you have any form of divine powers I’m looking at you C e l.”
“Ok Al, so what’s the quest”
“It’s a “stealth mission” Cel so try not do anything extreme if you angry”
“It should be fine Zera has illusion magic and vampires can invisible so I think we’re fine Zack”
“If you say so Cel but we have to wait a week in the meantime before we do the quest”
“That works out anyways because Zera needs to work with her wind magic more”
With the week before the stealth quest I decied to throw Zera into the air again so she learns quicker because when I tried to train her normally she can’t seem to understand the wind but when in the air she gets it. I think the fear is definitely pushing her further besides… she needs to get used to scary situations or she won’t be able to handle adventuring. This time I got lucky and we actually got to spar in the air this time because I was prepared for her trying to choke me out again. I decied to start off with some white flames ``ANGELS WRATH” the huge flames dash towards her in the form of wings flapping acting as wing magic. She counters and yells something I don’t quite catch clearly at first “Soaring seahorse!” A water pegasus the size of a dragon was coming straight towards the wings and it was tearing through the wings like it was swiss cheese. I was starting to wonder if she really needed or wanted a teacher or just wanted a sparring partner. Either way I decied to take over the seahorse with my water magic and some lightning to back it up and charge it with some scary power. Zera though was already running away from it and preparing to go around to strike me with a wind blade so I just smitted her down to earth. But not before she managed to conjure a huge water disc surrounded in condensed wind to add that extra push. I had the lingering seahorse finish off her final spell which led to an explosion of water creating clouds that rained for so long. Even by the time we left next week it was still raining.
