Trying not to burn her iridescent wings on the candle by the bed, the fairy kneels by the young boy's head and -with all her might- drags a leather pouch from under his pillow. 

After all the teeth tumble out, she starts counting. 23, 24, 25… She frowns with confusion. Since when do children have more than 20 baby teeth? 

The boy accidentally bumps her coin bag off the bed and she flutters down to retrieve it. The stench hits before she sees it. Underneath the bed, she finds a bloodied bat and bags… Bags and bags full of teeth.
