The ancient temple was a towering structure of sand-worn stone and crumbling pillars. As Zaruya, Naelina, and Glasses entered the temple, they were awestruck by the grandeur and size of the place. The ceilings were high, adorned with intricate carvings of ancient symbols and scenes of battles. The walls were lined with colorful murals depicting long-forgotten stories and legends.
They explored deeper into the temple and came across a large chamber filled with statues of various deities and creatures, each one intricately carved and painted with great detail. The chamber was dimly lit with torches, casting a warm glow on the statues and giving the chamber a mystical atmosphere.
They explored further and noticed that the temple seemed to be abandoned, there were no signs of life and the dust covered everything. But as they were about to leave the chamber, they noticed a figure sitting cross-legged on a raised platform in the center of the chamber, surrounded by a strange purple aura. The figure was an old sorcerer, dressed in ragged robes, and had a long white beard. He seemed to be in a deep meditative state, and the trio hesitated to disturb the man who they first thought was a statue. But as they approached, the sorcerer suddenly opened his eyes and spoke.
Sorcerer: "Welcome, travelers. I have been expecting you."
Naelina: "Who are you? How did you know we were coming?"
Sorcerer: "I am a sorcerer, and I have been watching you from afar. I could sense the power within you, young girl, you have the blood of a demon coursing within your veins. I have been waiting for someone like you to come to this temple for a long time."
Zaruya: "What do you want from us? We were just passing through."
Sorcerer: "I want to help you, princess Naelina, to harness her power."
Naelina: "How...how do you know my name?"
The sorcerer then stood up and took off his hood, he was a demon elf. He then proceeded to take out a Demonic Alliance token, only given to the elders of the tribe.
Naelina: "You're an elder of my tribe? But I do not know you."
Sorcerer: "You can call me "Elder Arcanis", one of the seven elder founders of the Demonic Alliance."
Naelina: "That's impossible, the founder elders were already in their hundreds when they founded the alliance 200 years ago!"
Arcanis: "So? We half-elves have a lifespan of 300 years, and when sorcerers awaken their magic circulation in their bodies, their lifespans can easily reach 800 to 900 years. So you could say I am still in the prime of my life! Hahaha!"
Naelina: "Well, the token seems legit. And if you wanted to harm us you could have easily killed us. So I suppose we can trust you for now."
Arcanis: "Hahaha! I don't expect less from our princess!"
Naelina: "I am not a princess anymore, ever since I left the tribe, my princess title has been revoked."
Arcanis: "I know that, I've been communicating with the current elders from time to time. And I will tell you this, you being a princess is not a title, but it's due to your lineage, so it can't be revoked."
Naelina: "What do you mean by my lineage?"
Arcanis: "Our tribe has always been run by elders. We never had a princess until you were born. Have you ever asked yourself why?"
Naelina: "I've been told by my father that it's a new hierarchical system."
Arcanis: "What do you know about your mother?"
Naelina: "Nothing much, my father doesn't like to mention her."
Arcanis: "Your mother was a powerful pure blood demon, daughter of a demon king, hence the title princess that you inherited. She died while giving birth to you, and with her death, her dark magic was transferred to you Naelina, making you a very powerful being once you awaken."
Naelina: "I had no idea...I always thought I was just chosen as a princess because my father is an elder."
Arcanis: "You possess great potential. That is why I have been watching you. I believe you have a role to play in the fate of this land."
Naelina: "What role?"
Arcanis: "That is for you to discover. But know this, there are those who seek to harness your power for their own gain. You must be careful, and you must be willing to learn and to embrace your demon heritage."
Zaruya and Glasses were dumbfounded after all these revelations.
Zaruya: "Wow, Naelina, I had no idea. That's so cool!"
Glasses: "Indeed, it is a unique heritage."
Naelina: "I am still trying to process all of this. But I am willing to learn and to embrace my heritage, under elder Arcanis' guidance."
Arcanis: "Good, you must be willing to work hard and to push yourself to your limits. But I promise you, the rewards will be great."
Naelina: "What should I do now, elder?"
Arcanis: "From now on I shall be your master."
Naelina: "Master." Naelina said, bowing her head, in respect, to her new master.
Arcanis was a powerful dark sorcerer who spent decades in this temple learning about the great demons of the past who were powerful beings that once ruled over all the demons and demonic creatures.
He explained that the temple was built by Buzuur, one of the most powerful demons to ever exist.
Buzuur was a powerful demon who ruled the desert many centuries ago. He was a fierce warrior and a master of dark magic. Buzuur was known for his ability to summon and control powerful demons, and he was feared by all who lived in the desert.
Buzuur's rule was not an easy one, as he had to constantly fend off attacks from rival demons and other enemies. However, Buzuur was always victorious, and his power grew with each battle.
One day, Buzuur decided to build a temple to honor the great demons of the past and to serve as a reminder of their power. He summoned the greatest architects and builders of the desert and set them to work on the temple.
The temple was a masterpiece of engineering, it was built with the strongest materials and adorned with intricate carvings and sculpted details, and was filled with sculptures of demons. Buzuur also filled the temple with ancient texts and artifacts that he had collected throughout his reign.
Buzuur's temple soon became a pilgrimage site for demons and other dark beings, who came to pay their respects to the great demon king. Buzuur also spent much of his time studying the ancient texts and artifacts in the temple, and he became one of the most powerful sorcerers in the desert.
Buzuur's reign came to an end when he was defeated in a great battle against a group of powerful demon hunters. However, his legacy lived on in the temple, and his power could still be felt by those who entered it.
Arcanis also mentioned that Naelina, with her demonic heritage, might be able to tap into Buzuur's inheritance and gain some of his powers. Zaruya asked if she could also learn magic if she worked hard, but the old sorcerer told her that beast-elves are not suited at all for magic, which made Zaruya angry and sad.
Naelina was fascinated by her master's stories and the possibility of gaining new abilities.
Arcanis began to teach Naelina the dark arts. At the same time, Zaruya and Glasses continued to explore the temple. They discovered ancient texts and artifacts that held secrets of the desert and its history. They also found a room filled with weapons and armors that were said to have been used by Buzuur and his followers. Zaruya was particularly interested in the weapons, and Glasses helped her to understand how they worked and how to use them.
As the days passed, Naelina's powers grew stronger and she was able to summon and control demons with ease. She also discovered that she could use dark magic to manipulate sand, creating sand golems to fight besides her. Zaruya and Glasses were amazed by her new abilities and they were glad to have her on their side.
While Naelina practiced magic, Zaruya also did not waste her time, Arcanis summoned a few demons for her to use as sparring partners to improve her fighting skills and better control her strength. Zaruya took on the demons with fierce determination, using her knife and her animal instincts to outmaneuver and overpower them. The sorcerer watched in amazement as Zaruya's skills grew with each passing day.
As Naelina delved deeper into the dark arts, she began to unlock new abilities and powers within herself. She learned how to summon and control lesser demons, and she discovered that she had a natural affinity for dark magic. Her master was pleased with her progress and began to teach her more advanced spells and incantations.
Meanwhile, Glasses had also been busy, using the resources in the temple to improve his own abilities and to build new tools and weapons for the girls. He built a new sand-board for Zaruya, which was equipped with a small engine, allowing her to travel faster and more efficiently across the sand. As the weeks passed, Zaruya, Naelina, and Glasses grew stronger and more powerful, preparing themselves for whatever challenges lay ahead.
