Each species gets threads or a string to their soulmate that's kinda like a mood ring. Usually through the ages 16-22. Age gaps are usually 1-5 years with exceptions for 2nd mates. Meaning someone's soulmate died. Or they loss threads to that person which is pretty rare, but it does happen. Some people never get threads, like aroce people or just extremely unlovable people or people who's soulmate might not be born for a few hundred more years.

People can get more than one soulmate the record is 11. And its like a 50/50 chance a soulmate will be the sane species as someone. 

Same sex threads are light blue or orange

Dark blue, they’re sad 

Green, They're Jealous

Cyan, they’re keeping a secret

Yellow, they’re happy

Purple, They’re upset

White, they miss you 

Pink, they’re falling in love with you

Black, you hurt their feelings

Dark orange, horny

Dark Grey, They’re uncomfortable or scared

Red, they’re mad

Opposite sex threads are a dark shade of red. 

Blue, they’re sad 

Green, they’re jealous

Cyan, they’re keeping a secret

Yellow, They’re happy

Purple, they’re upset

White, they miss you

Pink, your giving them butterflies/they're falling for you

Black, you hurt their feelings

Dark orange, horny

Dark Grey, They’re uncomfortable or frightened

Orange, they’re mad
