Terrance & Orpheus
“Hi…” Orpheus says confused. He stares up at the man in front of him and says, “You tapped me?”
“Oh? Uhm…” Terrance blushes slightly. “I was just asking around if anyone’s seen this woman?” Terrance says hesitantly. “Your highness!” Someone calls loudly and Orpheus looks back and lips, “Give me a second”
“Your highness?” Terrance says confused and Orpheus raises an eyebrow, “You don’t know me?” He asks smugly and Terrance shakes his head.
“You… Aren’t from here are you?” Orpheus asks, confused. “What gave me away?” Terrance smiles. “Well, your hair is straight for one… I don’t really see that on black people. Or that many white people… Asians have straight hair… Sometimes. Wait… You are…” He says slowly and Terrance chuckles. “I am black, '' Terrance says, and Orpheus nods. “Got it… And secondly, you touched me.”
“Am I not allowed to do that…?” Terrance asks confusedly and Orpheus shrugs and says, “the paparazzi are the only people bold enough to do that. And you didn’t hesitate?”
“Paparazzi?” Terrance mumbles, confused. Orpheus smiles and turns around to face him fully.
“I’m the prince. So… They usually show up when I stay anywhere for too long.” Orpheus says, staring at him. Terrance scratches his head and says, “Wait…? So you don’t have presidents? Or Mayors or-” “I don’t know what those are.” Orpheus says, smiling.
They both stare at each other, smiling before Orpheus clears his throat. “So… Who’s the picture of?”
Terrance looks at him confused, and back at the flier. “Oh? It’s my mom… I’m looking for her. We haven’t been in contact for a while and I heard she was here.”
“Your highness.” Someone calls firmly and Orpheus rolls his eyes. “Give me a second please?” Orpheus says smiling and he stands up. God he’s huge… Terrance stares at him confused as he walks away.
After a few minutes, he comes back sipping something from a white cup and he smiles.
“Here you go,” the waiter says, smiling before handing Orpheus a bag. “Thank you” He smiles and looks back at Terrance. “So? How long have you been looking for her?” He asks looking back at the flier. “A month or two now.” Orpheus scoffs, “Seriously?” Terrance nods, confusedly.
“Well, who’s your elf? They’re obviously terrible at their job?” Orpheus says before taking another sip. “My elf?” Terrance asks, visibly confused.
Orpheus pauses and stares at him. “Where are you from?” He asks hesitantly. “Oh? The other side of the border” Terrance says blankly. “What were you doing there…?” Orpheus asks, confused.
“Here you go” The waiter holds up a bag and smiles and Terrance takes it confused. “Are you paying cash or by card?” He opens his wallet and hands her his card. “Back to my question…? Why were you with the humans?” Orpheus asks confusedly, and the server chuckles. “Humans? Why on earth would you want to be with them?” She asks, handing him his card.
“You say that as if you aren’t human…” Terrance mumbles, and the waiter waves and walks away. “Why would humans live on this side of the border…?” Orpheus says confused and Terrance stares at him.
“Everyone here has abilities and magic? On the other side, they had to tell you at least that?” Orpheus says confused and Terrance hesitantly shakes his head. “Then are you…” Terrance mumbles and Orpheus raises an eyebrow at him. “Well, I’m the prince…” Orpheus says confused.
“So?” Terrance asks in a low tone. “I’m a vampire… All the royals here are” Orpheus says lightly swirling his cup. Blood.
Terrance’s eyes widen and he quickly takes a step back. “I… Gotta go.” He mumbles before walking away. “Good luck finding your mom!” Orpheus calls and Terrance looks back at him and continues walking.
“Who was that?” MariEtta asks, confused. Orpheus shrugs, “I’m not sure… He didn’t give me a name…” He says looking back at the flier.
