Akiya pulled out the piece of paper from his pocket and read the address once again. Then he hid it again and continued to walk.
He was just walking down some empty street, when he suddenly felt that someone was following him. That’s why he stopped.
“Easy there, you have conscience. I won’t kill you. I’m just walking by” he heard a friendly voice.
He turned around. He recognised that the man, who was now standing in front of him, was Ueno Masashi. Tall, muscular, black-haired man with brown eyes. Women had to love him, even if he was also a little chubby.
"Why do you know that I have conscience?" asked Akiya.
He wanted to be sure.
"I can hear your footsteps" explained Masashi. "We can't hear footsteps of bad vampires. Even when they have heels."
"Oh, right" Akiya smiled slightly.
"Just me, Saito and Mitsuru know that we can't hear that, if a vampire doesn't have a conscience. We're the only ones who notice it, instead of stabbing vampires with the stake in blindly" replied Masashi.
"Hi, Masashi!" called him a short, radiantly smiling and fast-running boy that stopped abruptly, when he saw Akiya.
He immediately took out the stake, but Masashi stopped him with his hand.
"Hiroto, leave it. He's good" he said quickly, so Hiroto couldn't attack Akiya.
"Oh" Hiroto understood and put the stake back in his pocket. "Do you know the one, who saved Kousuke?"
"He's standing in front of you" replied Akiya.
"Thanks for saving my buddy then" Hiroto smiled, showing his crooked teeth to the world. "Masashi, let's take him to the Shelter. Please, please, please!"
Hiroto begged for it the way little children ask their parents to buy a dog. Even his green eyes started filling with tears because of that.
"Hiroto, stop acting like a child" Masashi sighed. "Yes, actually... What's your name, Child of the Night?
"Wow, Child of the Night, how official" Akiya smiled slightly. "Kawakami Akiya, nice to meet you."
"Okada Hiroto, I'm Okada Hiroto!" Hiroto was jumping up and down like a baby. "Will you come with us to the Shelter?
"That's where I was going. I guess I just got lost. I haven't been to this part of town for a long time" eplied Akiya.
"Then come with us, we'll take you there" Masashi smiled friendly and moved ahead.
Akiya followed him. Hiroto, still excited, was jumping all the way there, making his blonde hair flowing.
They finally reached the Shelter. Akiya walked to the door opened by Masashi and bumped into the invisible barrier.
“Can you let me in?” asked Akiya.
“Of course” Hiroto smiled radiantly and grabbed his hand, pulling him to the Shelter.
The vampire walked in. On the left there were stairs leading probably to the rooms. Straight ahead, at the end of a rather long hall, was a large door. To the right was a bar, behind which stood a rather girlish man in a lace apron. And Sakamo was sitting at this bar.
"Sakamo, what are you doing here?" Akiya was surprised.
"I'm spending my time with old friends and I'm giving them clues, where bad vampires are hiding" replied Sakamo as if it was obvious.
Before Akiya could take a good look at everyone, a conqueror approached him and Hiroto. He had black hair with blonde stands and golden eyes. He was almost as short as Hiroto, but he wasn't as slender as him.
"Hiroto, I was looking for you" he said. "Who's this?"
"This is Kawakami Akiya, that nice vampire, who saved Kousuke" explained Hiroto. "Mister vampire, this is Murai. I mean, Nakayama Murai."
"Good evening" Akiya smiled friendly.
"Nice to meet you, Kawakami-san" Murai smiled even more radiantly. "Should I show you around?"
"Murai, we have other tasks" said a man a little taller than him, with brown curly hair and brown eyes, handing him a sheaf of papers. "Mitsuru got a report that two vampires are killing innocents in the >>Ayame<< district. You and Hiroto are to catch one and me and Shino are going to get the other."
"Sure, Nakano" Murai flipped through the file. "Come on, Hiroto. Let's go defeat evil vampires!"
Hiroto nodded and they both ran to get their equipment. Meanwhile, Akiya was approached by a short, chubby, black-haired man with a friendly smile. His eyes were blue and bright.
"Hello, I'm Shibata Mida" he introduced himself. "Me and Hashi are going to the mission."
He pointed on slender, brown-haired man, who looked more like an embarrassed school girl. His small, almost closed eyes were green, but Akiya thought that if he wasn't a vampire, he probably wouldn't notice this colour properly.
"But Toshima probably would willingly show you around and introduce more conquerors" Mida smiled again.
The man called Toshima flinched, when he heard his name. Or surname. Akiya didn't know.
Toshima walked to Akiya and glared at him, with a little untrust in his blue eyes, which were good match with his navy hair.
"You are that good vampire, right?" he asked, smiling a little. "So, I'm Harada Toshima. This is Takeuchi Shinya."
He pointed on the girlish man in the lace apron, who's eyes were golden, just like his hair.
"Yes, he isn't a woman. This shorty sitting at the bar and swinging his legs is Fukuda Jyomi. There is also Hirano Shino, but he left with Nakano. You know the rest of us, right?"
"Yes" replied Akiya.
“Okay, so there's a council room over there behind that big door. The rooms are upstairs, but Jyomi will show you around them, because I have other things to do" he said and walked to Jyomi.
He slapped his shoulder and pointed at Akiya. Jyomi looked like he was Shinya's younger brother, with this set of golden eyes and hair like his.
"Follow me, Kawakami-san!" Jyomi called him and ran upstairs. Akiya, willy-nilly, followed him.
